Methods: Quasar phantom data were used for evaluation. A phantom of known geometry was mounted on a four-dimensional(4D) motion platform programmed with twelve respiratory waves(twelve lung patients trajectories) and scanned with a Philips Brilliance Big bore 16-slice CT simulator. The 4DCT images were reconstructed using both phase- and amplitude-binning algorithms. Internal target volumes(ITVs) of the phase- and amplitude-binned image sets were compared by evaluation of shape and volume distortions. Results: The phantom experiments illustrated that, as expected, maximum inhalation occurred at the 0% amplitude and maximum exhalation occurred at the 50% amplitude of the amplitude-binned 4DCT image sets. The amplitude-binned algorithm rendered smaller ITV than the phase-binning algorithm. Conclusion: The amplitude-binning algorithm for 4DCT reconstruction may have a potential advantage in reducing the margin and protecting normal lung tissue from unnecessary irradiation.展开更多

Nakajo and W. Takahashi in 2003 proved the strong convergence theorems for nonex-pansive mappings, nonexpansive semigroups, and proximal point algorithm for zero point of monotone operators in Hilbert spaces by using the hybrid method in mathematical programming. The purpose of this paper is to modify the hybrid iteration method of K. Nakajo and W. Takahashi through the monotone hybrid method, and to prove strong convergence theorems. The convergence rate of iteration process of the monotone hybrid method is faster than that of the iteration process of the hybrid method of K. Nakajo and W. Takahashi. In the proofs in this article, Cauchy sequence method is used to avoid the use of the demiclosedness principle and Opial's condition.展开更多

A forward simulation, which always should be conducted firstly for the development of a matching retrieval algorithm, has not been done before. We use two radiative transfer models, ARTS and AM, to simulate the water vapor, ozone and carbon monoxide spectra on the plateau based on the spectral design of the THz radiometer. The emission line characteristics of the three gases in this spectral band are identified. Reasons for the differences in the spectral simulations between the two models are analyzed for individual gases. The impact of several different spectral parameter settings on the simulations are evaluated through a series of sensitivity experiments. This study suggests that the ARTS is more suitable for the development of the THz radiometer retrieval algorithm. An optimal parameter setting of the ARTS for the three elements are given.展开更多
