Under the guidance of the concept of quality education, the teaching mode of high school mathematics has undergone fundamental changes, and scaffolding teaching has become an important mode of classroom teaching. Based on this, the current situation of high school mathematics teaching in China is analyzed, and “ellipse and its standard equations” is taken as an example to explore the significance of scaffolding mode of teaching in realizing the depth of student learning. Based on this, we analyze the current situation of high school mathematics teaching in China, and take “ellipse and its standard equation” as an example to discuss the importance of scaffolding teaching mode in realizing students’ deep learning, and to provide new ideas for the implementation of core literacy in the classroom of mathematics.展开更多

Inadequate understanding of mathematical concepts by students can render the implementation of other mathematical activities difficult. In high school mathematics teaching, the concept of conic sections is relatively abstract, and the ellipse marks the beginning of studying conic sections. Therefore, it is crucial to guide students in learning about ellipses and their standard equations in a reasonable manner. The APOS theory divides the learning of mathematical concepts into four stages: action, process, object, and schema, aiming to facilitate the acquisition and deepening of understanding of mathematical concepts through activities. Based on the APOS theory, this paper designs a teaching plan for the content of ellipses and their standard equations in high school mathematics, exploring the feasibility of this theory in teaching practice.
