Based on the characteristic of deep rock layers and the theory of key strata,we analysed elastic mechanical characteristics of key strata by using elastic plate theory.The results show that the deformation and distrib...Based on the characteristic of deep rock layers and the theory of key strata,we analysed elastic mechanical characteristics of key strata by using elastic plate theory.The results show that the deformation and distribution of internal forces of key strata vary with different mine boundary conditions.The boundary values of key strata with three point boundaries and one fixed boundary is greater than that with four fixed boundaries.Considering the rheology of key strata under low stress conditions,we selected a generalized Kelvin model to analyse the rheology characteristics of the key strata and discovered their instantaneous elastic phases.The rate of deformation decreased over time to the point where the key strata reached stability.But over this time,the effect on deformation became very clear. For high stress conditions,we chose a Burgers model and found deformation of key strata in the form of attenuation and steady-state creep and although the rate of deformation remained constant,secondary creep was obvious,causing instability in the system.As well,we analysed the effect of creep buckling and derived a relation between buckling force and time.展开更多
A new finite element model for single-layered strand was investigated for accurate and efficient mechanical behavior analysis.Mathematical model was created by sectional path-nodes sweeping and dynamic node-beam mappi...A new finite element model for single-layered strand was investigated for accurate and efficient mechanical behavior analysis.Mathematical model was created by sectional path-nodes sweeping and dynamic node-beam mapping.Geometric relations between nodes in center core wire and helical wires were deduced in tension and bending incorporating material elasticity theory and deformation geometrical compatibility.Based on Timoshenko beam theory,strand of a pitch length was modeled with specific material,geometric parameters and synthesized constraint equations defined in ANSYS software,and predetermined load cases were performed.The obtained results show that discrepancies between suggested method and Costello theory do not exceed 1.51% in tension and 6.21% in bending,which verifies the correctness and accuracy of the suggested finite element model in predicting mechanical behavior of single-layered wire strand.展开更多

The frequency dependent modulus of viscoelastic material is described by introducing a few dissipation coordinates, known as GHM (Golla-Hughes-McTavish) method, a standard linear system with constant coefficient. The effectiveness of this method is validated by experimental model. Compared with conventional methods, this method can reduce a number of degrees of freedom and improve accuracy, provides a good model for analogous configurations.展开更多

These key parameters are related to soil moi...Uncertainties in some key parameters in land surface models severely restrict the improvement of model capacity for successful simulation of surface-atmosphere interaction. These key parameters are related to soil moisture and heat transfer and phy- sical processes in the vegetation canopy as well as other important aerodynamic processes. In the present study, measurements of surface-atmosphere interaction at two observation stations that are located in the typical semi-arid region of China, Tongyu Station in Jilin Province and Yuzhong Station in Gansu Province, are combined with the planetary boundary layer theory to estimate the value of two key aerodynamic parameters, i.e., surface roughness length zorn and excess resistance κB-1. Multiple parameterization schemes have been used in the study to obtain values for surface roughness length and excess resistance κB-1 at the two stations. Results indicate that Zorn has distinct seasonal and inter-annual variability. For the type of surface with low-height vegetation, there is a large difference between the default value of Zorn in the land surface model and that obtained from this study, κB-1 demonstrates a significant diurnal variation and seasonal variability. Using the modified scheme for the estimation of Zom and κB-1 in the land surface model, it is found that simulations of sensible heat flux over the semi-arid region have been greatly improved. These results suggest that it is necessary to further evaluate the default values of various parameters used in land surface models based on field measurements. The approach to combine field measurements with atmospheric boundary layer theory to retrieve realistic values for key parameters in land surface models presents a great potential in the improvement of modeling studies of surface-atmosphere interaction.展开更多
