Results showed that montmorillonite clay minerals accounted for as much as 76% of mudstone, with a large number of pores existing in the microstructure. Besides, as the molecular structure of montmorillonite changed, mudstone microstructure damage occurred with the macroscopic manifestation of its theological instability. Weakening degree of confined water on residual strength of mudstone was almost 50%. The instability mechanism of soft rock roadway caused by high confined water is that surrounding rock circulates the process of "fracture-seepage-mud ding-closed" twice, which weakens its strength and leads to roadway instability. A combined support technology, namely the, "high-toughness sealing layer + hollow grouting cables + full-length anchoring bolts with deep borehole" was proposed. Based on field observation, the soft rock roadway was controlled effectively, which also verified the effectiveness of new control technology for surrounding rock.展开更多

Different objective models such as single arch model, composite arch model and global structural model were introduced to analyze the structural stability by means of the finite element technique. The eigen buckling factor of the steel arch structure was analyzed. The geometrical nonlinearity, elastic-plastic nonlinearity and initial imperfection were taken into account in the investigation of the structural buckling, and the nonlinearity reduction factors for the steel arch structure were discussed. The effects of geometrical nonlinearity and initial imperfection on the structural buckling are light while the effect of material nonlinearity is quite remarkable. For a single steel arch, the dominant buckling mode occurs in out-of-plane of arch structure. The out-of-plane buckling factor of the composite steel arch is greater than that of the single steel arch while the in-plane buckling factor of the former is somewhat less than that of the latter. Moreover, the webs near the steel arch feet have the lowest local buckling level and the local buckling is more serious than the global buckling for the global structure.展开更多

The analysis was then conducted using a standard logic-tree approach that allowed systematically taking into account the model-based (i.e., epistemic) uncertainty and its influence on the computed ground motion parameters. Hazard computations have been performed using a grid of sites with a space of 0.05 degrees. Two different computation methodologies have been adopted: the standard approach based on the definition of appropriate seismogenic sources and the zone-free approach, which overcomes the ambiguities related with the definition of the seismic sources solely reflecting the characteristics of the earthquake catalogue. A comprehensive and updated earthquake catalogue for Jamaica has been compiled for the years 1551-2010 and new empirical relationships amongst magnitudes Mze-Ms and Mw-mb have been developed for the region. Uniform hazard spectra and their uncertainty have been calculated for the horizontal component of ground motion for rock site conditions and five return periods (95, 475, 975, 2,475 and 4,975 years) and spectral accelerations for 34 structural periods ranging from 0 to 3 s, and 5% of critical damping. The spectral accelerations have been calculated to allow the definition of seismic hazard in Jamaica according to the International Building Code 2012. The disaggregation analysis for Kingston Metropolitan Area suggests that the magnitude-distance pair that contributes most to the hazard corresponds to events with M 7.8 and M 7.0 in the Enriquillo Plantain Garden Fault and the Jamaican Faults at a distance of 28 km and 18 km for short and long period structures respectively corresponding to 2,475 years return period. However, for long period structures, a substantial contribution is found for a M 8.2 at a distance of 198 km in the Oriente Fault Zone.展开更多

Changes in these modal properties constitute an indication of structural damage, which may then be assessed on the basis of experimental evidence. The authors proposed an approach to determine the so-called damage damping and stiffness matrices, which are essential to identify the location and intensity of damage. No restrictions were introduced on the damping matrix of the system. The approach requires ambient vibration data of all relevant coordinates used in the structural model, which are processed employing the SSI method. In practice, the identification method is seriously hampered by ambient factors such as temperature or humidity. In general those effects must be filtered out in other to obtain a reliable diagnosis of damage, approach that demands long term monitoring. In this paper, an alternative approach is explored, based on the introduction of error damping and stiffness matrices. Data on both matrices is generated on the basis of observed variations of structural member stiffness and damping caused by ambient factors. The influence of this uncertainty on the identified spectral properties is assessed by simulation.展开更多

By using hyperstatic primary structures and partly chained primary structures, the primary structures of force method and displacement method are reformed, and the order of the system is decreased. However, poor stability of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite hinders their forward long-term utilization and hence an effective strategy is needed to replace the organic part with an inorganic cation. Herein, all inorganic CsPbI3 nanowires with a di- ameter of 50-100 nm are synthesized on fluorine-doped tin oxide glass via a simple solution-dipping process, which are further transformed into CsPbBr3 nanowires through a so- lution-phase halide exchange method. A phase change from non-perovskite to perovskite structure is observed during the ion substitution process of I- by Br-, which is elaborated by X-ray diffraction, absorption and photoluminescence spectra. We for the first time apply the as-formed CsPbI3 and CsPbBr3 nanowires into perovskite solar cells, yielding power conversion efficiency of 0.11% and 1.21%, respectively. The inorganic CsPbBr3 nanowire solar cell shows impressive sta- bility which still remains 99% of the initial power conversion efficiency even after 5500 h aging.展开更多

The key is to generate representative points as few as possible but of acceptable accuracy. A generalized L2(GL2)-discrepancy is studied by taking unequal weights for the point set. The extended Koksma-Hlawka inequality is discussed. Thereby, a worst-case error estimate is provided by such defined GL2-discrepancy, whose dosed-form expression is available. The characteristic values of GL2-discrepancy are investigated. An optimal strategy for the selection of the representative point sets with a prescribed cardinal number is proposed by minimizing the GL2-discrepancy. The three typical examples of the multi-dimensional integrals are investigated. The stochastic dynamic response analysis of a nonlinear structure is then studied by incorporating the proposed method into the probability density evolution method. It is shown that the proposed method is advantageous in achieving tradeoffs between the efficiency and accuracy of the exemplified problems. Problems to be further studied are discussed.展开更多

Few studies have explored such a rotor-stator system with this aspect ratio and the flow structure on the rotor side. The mean flow structure varies from a torsional Couette type to a Batchelor type as the Reynolds number increases. The onset of the instability in the B?dewadt layer adjacent to the stator is delayed, whereas it is promoted in the Ekman layer adjacent to the rotor. Both the layers demonstrate rich spiral structures. Turbulent spirals are observed to occur at the rotor disk side that also generates TS-wave-like(Tollmien-Schlichting) structures between adjacent spiral arms. Further, the turbulence at the stator is complex and interesting. Statistically, the turbulence is highly anisotropic near both the rotating and nonrotating disks, which is depicted by the Reynolds stresses.展开更多

However, for long period structures, a substantial contribution is found for a M 8.2 at a distance of 198 km in the Oriente Fault Zone.
文摘The practical difficulties presented by forced vibration testing of large steel structures, such as tall buildings, transmission lines or bridges, led to an increased interest in structural monitoring through ambient vibrations, which usually allows the proper identification of modal properties, natural frequencies, damping and modes of vibration. The influence of this uncertainty on the identified spectral properties is assessed by simulation.
文摘As the strict limitation of primary structure in traditional force method and displacement method in indeterminate analysis may lead to complicated high-order linear equations, a breakthrough of the limitation, i.e., the application of irregular force method and irregular displacement method, would be introduced in this paper to ease the difficulty of hand computations. By using hyperstatic primary structures and partly chained primary structures, the primary structures of force method and displacement method are reformed, and the order of the system is decreased. The technique is explained through examples. The significance of the new method is summarized.

文摘ABX3-type organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskite materials have been recognized as promising candidates for optoelectronic applications. The inorganic CsPbBr3 nanowire solar cell shows impressive sta- bility which still remains 99% of the initial power conversion efficiency even after 5500 h aging.

文摘The numerical method for multi-dimensional integrals is of great importance, particularly in the uncertainty quantification of engineering structures. Problems to be further studied are discussed.

文摘In this study, the flows in an enclosed annular rotor-stator system with the Reynolds number ranging from 0.75×105 to 3.75×105 and an aspect ratio of 36.5 are investigated using the LES method. Statistically, the turbulence is highly anisotropic near both the rotating and nonrotating disks, which is depicted by the Reynolds stresses.

文摘Due to the dynamical character of electromagnetic exciter and the coupling between structure and exciter(s),the actual output force acting on the structure is usually not equal to the exact value that is supposed to be,especially when multi-exciters are used as actuators to precisely actuate large flexible structure. It is necessary to consider these effects to ensure the force generated by each exciter is the same as required. In this paper,a robust control method is proposed for the multi-input and multi-output(MIMO)structural vibration control system to trace the target actuating force of each exciter.A special signal is designed and put into the coupled mul-ti-exciter-structure system, and the input and output signals of the system are used to build a dynamic model involving both the dynamical characters of the exciters and the structure using the subspace identification method.Considering the uncertainty factors of the multi-exciter/structure system,an H-infinity robust controller is designed to decouple the coupling between structure and exciters based on the identified system model.A MIMO vibration control system combined with a flexible plate and three electromagnetic exciters is adopted to demonstrate the proposed method, both numerical simulation and model experiments showing that the output force of each exciter can trace its target force accurately within the requested frequency band.
