To improve the soil fertility and increase farmers’income in the ricecultivating area with red soil in Southern Hunan,a 6-year fixed-location experiment was carried out with three economic green manure cropping patte...To improve the soil fertility and increase farmers’income in the ricecultivating area with red soil in Southern Hunan,a 6-year fixed-location experiment was carried out with three economic green manure cropping patterns of rice-radish(RR),rice-broad bean(RB),and rice-pea(RP),and rice-winter leisure was taken as the control(CK).The rice yield,soil physicochemical properties,and comprehensive economic benefits were compared between different patterns.The results showed that the three economic green manure cropping patterns all increased the rice yield.Continues economic green manure cropping significantly increased the grain yield and aboveground biomass of rice.The three green manure cropping patterns did not cause significant changes in soil pH value,organic matter,total nitrogen,available nitrogen,or available potassium,while they increased the total potassium compared with CK.All the three patterns increased the economic benefit,and the rice-broad bean pattern had the highest economic benefit.Considering both soil fertility and economic benefits,rice-broad bean was recommended as the planting pattern in the paddy fields of red soil in Southern Hunan.展开更多
