Making good use of initiative of self- learning is the core element to help students in subjects learning, we constantly improve and perfect teaching concepts and classroom teaching mode to create the space for students to learn and explore actively, make personalized study according to their own characteristics, we make students experience the interest of freedom, autonomy, inquiry learning, enjoy the delight of appearance of personality and vitality of the burst of life vigor. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of society, to lay a more favorable foundation of knowledge for the students is an important part of English teaching in Higher Vocational Colleges in the new period. While the traditional teaching model in most cases has limited the development of the students＇ subjective initiative, which is teacher-centered and ignores the student＇s subjectivity, placing students in a state of passive learning. Presently, the knowledge-feeding teaching mode is faced with being banned. Along with the reform of the teaching objectives, the PE teaching reform is imperative under the direction of mobilizing students＇ learning initiative, adjusting the PE class structure, broadening the PE teaching and strengthening the design and implementation of the Combination with students＇ moral education development pattern.展开更多

With detailed analy...This paper attempts to reveal and solve problems in language teaching after discussing the issues of language change. It first discusses different models of English in the context of globalization. With detailed analysis of their theoretical backgrounds, development and foundations, this paper classifies these models into three groups： dualism （i.e., dualic model）, trinalism （trinalic model） and monism （monic model）. Through comparison, Yoneoka’s English Umbrella Theory is found to be more comprehensive and is improved into a practical Revised English Umbrella （REU） with the notion of English as an International Language （EIL）. Second, the changing models in English education are briefly reviewed. Attention is paid to the Computer and Classroom-Based （CCB） Model of College English education because of new requirements for College English education. Students’ competence in cross-cultural communication is becoming more and more important in the EIL context. Finally, a modified CCB model is promoted with the REU, combining EIL and English Umbrella elements.展开更多
