Influence of surfacing modulus on the strain state of the overlay is analyzed for the purpose of the optimal design of the overlay structure. Analysis results show that the deformation of the whole bridge structure has no evident influence on the stress state of the overlay. The key factor of the overlay design is the transverse tensile strain in the overlay above the upper edge of web plate of rib. The stress state of the overlay is influenced evidently by the modulus of rigidity transform overlay. And the stress state of the overlay can be optimized and lowered by increasing the modulus and thickness of rigidity transform overlay, The fatigue test has been done to evaluate the fatigue performance and modulus of different deck pavement materials such as epoxy asphalt, SBS modified asphalt, rosphalt asphalt which can provide reference for deck pavement structure design.展开更多

Based. on the theory of rock rheology and probability integral method, this study developed the superposltlOn model for the prediction and analysis of the ground dynamic subsidence in mining area of thick !oose layer. The model consists of two parts (the prediction of overlying bedrock and the prediction of thick loose layer). The overlying bedrock is regarded as visco-elastic beam, of which the dynamic subsidence is predicted by the Kelvin visco-elastic rheological model. The thick loose layer is regarded as random medium, and the ground dynamic subsidence, is predicted by the probability integral model. At last, the two prediction models are vertically stacked in the same coordinate system, and the bedrock dynamic subsidence is regarded as a variable mining thickness input into the prediction model of ground dynamic subsidence. The prediction results obtained were compared w^th actual movement and deformation data from Zhao I and Zhao II mine, central China. The agreement of the prediction results with the. field measurements.show that the superposition model (SM) is more satisfactory and the formulae obtained are more effective than the classical single probability Integral model(SPIM), and thus can be effectively used for predicting the ground dynamic subsidence in mining area of thick loose layer.展开更多

In this work, the activated carbon (AC) samples after thermal modification were prepared by using muffle furnace. The phenol ad- sorption kinetics and equilibrium measurements were carried out under static conditions at temperature ranging from 25 to 55 ~C. The test results show that the thermal modification can enhance phenol adsorption on AC samples. The porous structure and surface chemistry analyses indicate that the decay in pore morphology and decrease of total oxygen-containing functional groups are found for the thermal modified AC samples. Thus, it can be further inferred that the decrease of total oxygen-containing functional groups on the modified AC sam- ples is the main reason for the enhanced phenol adsorption capacity. For both the raw sample and the optimum modified AC sample at 900 ~C, the pseudo-second order kinetics and Langmuir models are found to fit the exper- imental data very well. The maximum phenol adsorption capacity of the optimum modified AC sample can reach 144,93 mg.g ~ which is higher than that of the raw sample, i.e. 119.53 mg.g 1. Adsorption thermodynamics analysis confirms that the phenol adsorption on the optimum modified AC sample is an exothermic process and mainly via physical adsorption.展开更多

However, due to the presence of a weak layer and unfavorable geological structural surface or a bedrock interface with overlying soft strata, the preexisting slip surface of the slope may be irregular and composed of a series of planes rather than strictly logspiral or plane shape. A computational model is developed for analyzing the seismic stability of slopes with pre-existing slip surfaces. This model is based on the upper bound limit analysis method and can consider the effect of anchor bolts. The soil or rock is deemed to follow the Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion. The slope is divided into multiple block elements along the slip surface. According to the displacement compatibility and the associated flow rule, a kinematic velocity field of the slope can be obtained computationally. The proposed model allows not only calculation of the rate of external work owing to the combined effect of self-weight and seismic loading, but also that of the energy dissipation rate caused by the slip surface, interfaces of block elements and anchorage effect of the anchors. Considering a direct relationship between the rate of external work and the energy dissipation rate, the expressions of yield acceleration and permanent displacement of anchored slopes can be derived. Finally, the validity of this proposed model is illustrated by analysis on three typical slopes. The results showed that the proposed model is more easily formulated and does not need to solve complex equations or time consuming iterations compared with previous methods based on the conditions of force equilibrium.展开更多

An analysis of the transverse planes of the fracture found that the cause of the transmission shaft fracture surface was that the defects of the initial surface were propagating to cracks and gave rise to the fracture under torque load. To specifically know well the strength of the transmission shaft under damaging fracture, a statics analysis was conducted on the transmission shaft through ANSYS finite element simulation software, and the finite element models under no cracks, different-depth circumferential cracks, and similar situation of the transverse planes of fracture were established respectively. An analysis of the crack-free finite element model found that the fracture of the transmission shaft was really not caused by the self-structure of the transmission shaft; an analysis of circumferential crack finite element model found that strong stress concentration would appear in the tip of cracks, and the value of the stress would increase along with the increase of the circumferential crack depth, the stress of the entire crack top tended to fluctuate like waves, and also the strength of the transmission shaft was greatly impacted by the presence of cracks; an analysis of the similar crack finite element model found that stress concentration would appear in the tip of cracks, and the initial cracks always started to propagate from the tip of the external surface of the transmission shaft and would propagate inward until the propagating areas of two cracks overlapped, and finally reached the position of transient interruption, and then the transmission shaft fractured completely and the fracture strength was onlv 1/5 of that under no cracks.展开更多

Hence,it is necessary to integrate the cutter runout effect in cutter swept surface modeling, geometric error prediction and tool path optimization for five-axis flank machining. In this paper,an envelope surface model considering cutter runout effect is first established, and geometric errors induced by runout effect are derived based on the relative motion analysis between the cutter and part in machining. In the model, the cutter runout is defined by four parameters, including inclination angle, location angle, offset value and the length of cutter axis. Then the runout parameters are integrated into the rotation surface of each cutting edge that is used to form the final cutter envelope surface for the five-axis machining process. Thus, the final resulting geometric errors of the machined surface induced by cutter runout can be obtained through computing the deviations from the nominal cutter swept surface. To reduce these errors,an iterative least square method is used to optimize the tool paths for five-axis flank machining. Finally,a validation example is given for a specific ruled surface. Results show the effectiveness and feasibility of the analytical model of geometric errors induced by cutter runout, and also show that the geometric errors can be reduced significantly using the proposed tool path planning method.展开更多
