A total of 46 patients, 21 patients in the newly-initiated group and 25 patients in the existing BOT group performed dose adjustment using 3-3-1 algorithm. HbA1c was significantly improved 4 weeks after the initiation from 8.5% ± 1.2% at baseline to 7.3% ± 0.7% at the final evaluation (p 0.01, vs. Baseline). The average daily insulin units increased throughout the study period from 10.1 ± 6.7 at baseline to 14.6 ± 8.9 units at the final evaluation. Weight didn’t significantly change throughout the study (p = 0.12). The incidents of hypoglycemia were 0.8/month during the insulin dose self-adjustment period and 0.4/month during the follow-up period. The 3-3-1 algorithm using insulin glargine provided a safe and simple dose adjustment and demonstrated its utility in patients who were newly introduced to insulin treatment as well as who were already on BOT.展开更多

The prototype has been developed and is important because the cockpit is a new concept of medical equipment of neonatal life support. There was a modeling of the system of heating of the incubator using the concepts of system identification with the purpose of finding a mathematical model that describes the dynamic behavior of the system. Then, design and implement the strategy of feedback control with digital PID (proportional-integral-derivative) algorithm. The model allowed the design and implementation of a digital PID controller that meets in a satisfactory manner with the requirements, in accordance with the international standard. The control system implemented in the neonatal incubator ESVIN improved the effectiveness of the neonatal life support equipment in regard to temperature controller of the cockpit.展开更多

The flow was simulated by solving the full Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the RNG κ-ε turbulence model. In the horizontal x-y-plane, a boundary-fitted curvilinear co-ordinate system was adopted, while in the vertical direction, a σ co-ordinate transformation was used to represent the free surface and bed topography. The water level was determined by solving the 2-D Poisson equation derived from 2-D depth averaged momentum equations. The finite-volume method was used to discretize the equations and the SIMPLEC algorithm was applied to acquire the coupling of velocity and pressure. This model was applied to simulate the meandering channels and natural rivers, and the water levels and the velocities for all sections were given. By contrasting and analyzing, the agreement with measurements is generally good. The feasibility studies of simulating flow of the natural fiver have been conducted to demonstrate its applicability to hydraulic engineering research.展开更多
