The Finite Volume Element Method for Time-Fractional Nonlinear Fourth-Order Diffusion Equation with Time Delay

In this article, a finite volume element algorithm is presented and discussed for the numerical solutions of a time-fractional nonlinear fourth-order diffusion equation with time delay. By choosing the second-order spatial derivative of the original unknown as an additional variable, the fourth-order problem is transformed into a second-order system. Then the fully discrete finite volume element scheme is formulated by using L1approximation for temporal Caputo derivative and finite volume element method in spatial direction. The unique solvability and stable result of the proposed scheme are proved. A priori estimate of L2-norm with optimal order of convergence O(h2+τ2−α)where τand hare time step length and space mesh parameter, respectively, is obtained. The efficiency of the scheme is supported by some numerical experiments. 展开更多

A three-point combined compact difference (CCD) method is used to discretize the spatial variables to achieve sixth-order accuracy, while the exponential-sum-approximation (ESA) is used to approximate the variable-order Caputo fractional derivative in the temporal direction, and a novel spatial sixth-order hybrid ESA-CCD method is implemented successfully. Fractional calculus has been widely used to study the flow of viscoelastic fluids recently,and fractional differential equations have attracted a lot of attention.However,the research has shown that the fractional equation with constant order operators has certain limitations in characterizing some physical phenomena.In this paper,the viscoelastic fluid flow of generalized Maxwell fluids in an infinite straight pipe driven by a periodic pressure gradient is investigated systematically.Consider the complexity of the material structure and multi-scale effects in the viscoelastic fluid flow.The modified time fractional Maxwell models and the corresponding governing equations with distributed/variable order time fractional derivatives are proposed.Based on the L1-approximation formula of Caputo fractional derivatives,the implicit finite difference schemes for the distributed/variable order time fractional governing equations are presented,and the numerical solutions are derived.In order to test the correctness and availability of numerical schemes,two numerical examples are established to give the exact solutions.The comparisons between the numerical solutions and the exact solutions have been made,and their high consistency indicates that the present numerical methods are effective.Then,this paper analyzes the velocity distributions of the distributed/variable order fractional Maxwell governing equations under specific conditions,and discusses the effects of the weight coefficient(α)in distributed order time fractional derivatives,the orderα(r,t)in variable fractional order derivatives,the relaxation timeλ,and the frequencyωof the periodic pressure gradient on the fluid flow velocity.Finally,the flow rates of the distributed/variable order fractional Maxwell governing equations are also studied. 展开更多

In this paper, three types of modeling of diffusion equations for price changing of commodity are studied. In which, the partial derivatives of price of commodity respected to time on the left hand side are integer-derivative, fractal derivative, and fractional derivative respectively;while just a second order derivative respected to space is considered on the right hand side. The solutions of these diffusion equations are obtained by method of departing variables and initial boundary conditions, by translation of variables, and by translation of operators. The definitions of order of commodity x and the distance between commodity?xi and xj are defined as [1]. Examples of calculation of price of pork, beef and mutton mainly due to price raising of pork in 2007-07 to 2008-02 inChina are given with same market data as [1]. Conclusion is made. 展开更多

This paper deals with the problem of finite-time boundedness and fin计e-time stabilization boundedness of frax?tional-order switched nonlinear systems with exogenous inputs.By constructing a simple Lyapunov-like function and using some properties of Caputo derivative,the authors obtain some new sufficient conditions for the problem via linear matrix inequalities,which can be efficiently solved by using existing convex algorithms.A constructive geometric is used to design switching laws amongst the subsystems.The obtained results are more general and useful than some existing works,and cover them as special cases,in which only linear fractional-order systems were presented.Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results. 展开更多

This paper considers a novel distributed order time fractional dual-phase-lag model to analyze the anomalous diffusion in a comb structure,which has a widespread application in medicine and biology.The newly proposed constitution model is a generalization of the dual-phase-lag model,in which a spectrum of the time fractional derivatives with the memory characteristic governed by the weight coefficient is considered and the formulated governing equation contains both the diffusion and wave characteristics.With the L1-formula to discrete the time Caputo fractional derivatives,the finite difference method is used to discretize the model and the related numerical results are plotted graphically.By adding a source term,an exact solution is defined to verify the correctness of the numerical scheme and the convergence order of the error in spatial direction is presented.Finally,the dynamic characteristics of the particle distributions and the effects of involved parameters on the total number of particles in the x-direction are analyzed in detail. 展开更多

基于分数阶Zener模型与时变黏性Zener模型之间的等效黏弹性,突出弛豫时间在岩石流变黏弹性演变过程中的重要性。当弛豫时间趋近于无穷大,蠕变过程中的黏性演变等同于松弛过程中的黏性演变,并且建立了与弛豫时间相关的损伤因子,解释了损... 基于分数阶Zener模型与时变黏性Zener模型之间的等效黏弹性,突出弛豫时间在岩石流变黏弹性演变过程中的重要性。当弛豫时间趋近于无穷大,蠕变过程中的黏性演变等同于松弛过程中的黏性演变,并且建立了与弛豫时间相关的损伤因子,解释了损伤因子在岩石流变变形过程的物理意义。利用弛豫时间建立分数阶变阶函数,依此构造变阶分数阶损伤蠕变模型,并且将模型推广到三向应力状态,给出三向应力状态下变阶分数阶损伤蠕变模型。最后基于砂岩的三轴蠕变试验数据,验证了三轴状态下变阶分数阶损伤蠕变模型的可应用性和合理性,试验数据与模型拟合曲线吻合度较高,可以较好地描述蠕变全过程力学行为。模型拟合参数的有效性得到分析和验证,增加了模型在其他复杂应力环境下的可应用性。 展开更多
