Aims and objectives: To explore any changes in nurses’ skills at communicating with residents with dementia disease when using the validation method, as observed in one-to-one videotaped conversations. Background: Communication difficulties due to cognitive impairment among residents with dementia disease may complicate care situations. Training can improve nurses’ communication skills and increase care quality. The validation method aims to facilitate communication with residents with dementia disease through empathic and confirmatory approaches. Evaluations of the validation method have primarily focused on the residents’ perspective, and reports on nurses’ experiences are sparse. Improved communication and relationships with residents after validation method training have been described previously. Videotaped data could provide additional information about these earlier results. Design: A descriptive qualitative design. Methods: Eight nurses participated in a year of validation method training, including videotaped conversations with eleven residents. Videotapes with at least five months between the first and last recording were analysed and compared qualitatively. Results: The analysis revealed an overall pattern: nurses’ movements within and between various paths when improving their communication skills. This was based on three sub-patterns: from controlling communication towards developing attentiveness in communication, from ambiguous communication towards developing coherence in communication, and from being open and attentive towards having a refined attuned communication. Conclusions: All nurses developed their communication skills during the programme, albeit to different degrees. The findings are in congruence with the experiences described by nurses, and so it is reasonable to believe that the programme helped to improve the nurses’ skills in communicating with residents with dementia disease. Relevance to clinical practice: A validation method training programme could give nurses the possibility to develop their skills in communicating with residents with dementia disease. 展开更多

Methods:... Objective: to analyze the influence of flexible use of communication skills on the compliance of children in outpatient and emergency transfusion, and to analyze the improvement of their nursing satisfaction. Methods: according to the method of random number table, 150 cases of pediatric transfusion patients received in our hospital from January 2021 to February 2022 were divided into groups of 75 cases / group. The control group was given routine nursing care alone, while the observation group was given communication skill intervention, and the intervention effects of the two groups were compared. Results: according to the analysis of childrens puncture compliance and the success rate of one puncture, the observation group was higher than the control group [(98.67% VS86.67%), (96.00% VS84.00%)]( χ2 7.946,6.000;P<0.05). By analyzing the scores of Wang Baker and FLACC scales, the observation group had lower scores than the control group [(2.98 ± 0.11) VS (6.51 ± 0.36), (1.42 ± 0.12) VS (3.36 ± 0.18)] (t81.212, 77.662;P0.05). The CPSS score was compared between groups before intervention and had no statistical value (t0.062;P>0.05);the CPSS scores of the two groups decreased significantly after intervention, and the observation group was lower than the control group [(16.02 ± 3.06) points VS (18.74 ± 5.32) points] (t3.838;P0.05). The adverse event rate of infusion in the observation group was low, and the satisfaction of the childrens family members was high( χ2 5.172,5.792,4.807,5.797;P<0.05). Conclusion: the value of communication skill intervention in pediatric transfusion in outpatient and emergency department is significant, which can relieve the psychological pressure of children, improve their puncture compliance, one-time puncture success rate and clinical transfusion quality, and actively prevent adverse events, thus improving the satisfaction of childrens families. This program is worth popularizing. 展开更多

This study focuses on the application of the“PBL(problem-based learning)+Flipped Classroom”teaching model in bilingual education, aiming to explore its potential to enhance the quality and effectiveness of bilingual teaching.PBL emphasizes learning through the resolution of real-world problems, while the Flipped Classroom advocates that students acquire basic knowledge through self-study before class, dedicating class time to in-depth discussions and practical activities. The integration of these two teaching models in bilingual education aims to stimulate students’interest in learning, improve their autonomous learning abilities, enhance critical thinking, and foster cross-cultural communication skills.Through literature review, case analysis, and empirical research, this study first examines the current applications and challenges of PBL and the Flipped Classroom in bilingual education.Subsequently,it elaborates on the specific implementation steps of the“PBL+Flipped Classroom”teaching model in bilingual education, including problem design, preview material provision, cooperative learning, classroom activities, and language support.A comparative experiment is then conducted to analyze the impact of this teaching model on students’learning motivation, academic performance, and cross-cultural communication skills. The results indicate that the“PBL+Flipped Classroom”teaching model significantly improves students’learning motivation and participation, enhances academic performance, and effectively boosts their cross-cultural communication skills.Furthermore, this model aids in cultivating students’autonomous learning abilities and critical thinking, providing an innovative and effective approach to bilingual education. This study offers new ideas and insights for the field of bilingual education, which is of great significance for promoting the innovation and development of bilingual teaching models. 展开更多
