Feasibility of Prototyping the Jominy Test Device: Corroborating for Studies and Preliminary Results of the Heating and Data Acquisition Subsystems

This work contributed to a detailed study on a better understanding of the Jominy test, adopted a proportion of study to create the Jominy test device, exhibited favorable conceptions for the development of a prototyp... This work contributed to a detailed study on a better understanding of the Jominy test, adopted a proportion of study to create the Jominy test device, exhibited favorable conceptions for the development of a prototype of the device, covering the four aspects of the project, being they: test device, test body heating system, test automation and instrumentation using embedded electronics and financial analysis for the elaboration of this project in Brazil. It was possible to observe in the results that the system is efficient, simple and functional, it was possible to obtain the first test carried out in the controlled environment the temperature data in degrees centigrade, the recorded data were automatically launched in Microsoft Excel by the PLX DAQ software, making the acquisition of the data. In the matter of preparing the test device, the drawings are presented in the 3D modeling software, cost tables of the materials used for assembly in Brazil. In terms of the heating system, a heating system was adopted that uses electromagnetic induction, the cost of materials related to the heating system design was also presented. Another relevant factor that contributes to the research and improvement of the prototype is the municipality, located in the Paraiba Valley region, located in the state of <span style="white-space:nowrap;">S&#227;o </span>Paulo, consisting of a fertile and relevant scenario of regional, national, international and multinational statistics, thus concluding the effectiveness for the mainly metallurgical industries. The results obtained were satisfactory and consistent, when they were created for the Jominy test device with the ability to submit small pieces for testing and mainly essential in the didactic point of view for a higher education institution of engineering and technology. 展开更多

The control of the system is implemented by the combination of complex programable logic device (CPLD) and digital signal processing (DSP), the bulk buffer of the system is implemented by the combination of CPLD, DSP, and synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM), and the data transfer is implemented by the combination of DSP, first in first out (FIFO), universal serial bus (USB) and USB hub. The system could not only work independently in single-channel mode, but also implement high-speed real-time multi-channel data acquisition system (MCDAS) by the combination of multiple single-channels. The sampling rate and data storage capacity of each channel could reach up to 100 million sampiing per second and 256 MB respectively. 展开更多

The space station is a dome-shaped structure with scale-shaped modules and basalt reinforced fiber composite materials, providing thermal insulation, ventilation and continuous power supply. This article reports the latest development of a wireless sensing system,named Martlet,on high-g shock acceleration measurement.The Martlet sensing node design is based on a Texas Instruments Piccolo microcontroller,with clock frequency programmable up to 90 MHz.The high clock frequency of the microcontroller enables Martlet to support high-frequency data acquisition and high-speed onboard computation.In addition,the extensible design of the Martlet node conveniently allows incorporation of multiple sensor boards.In this study,a high-g accelerometer interface board is developed to allow Martlet to work with the selected microelectromechanical system(MEMS)high-g accelerometers.Besides low-pass and highpass filters,amplification gains are also implemented on the high-g accelerometer interface board.Laboratory impact experiments are conducted to validate the performance of the Martlet wireless sensing system with the high-g accelerometer board.The results of this study show that the performance of the wireless sensing system is comparable to the cabled system. 展开更多

牵引联调试验台是轨道交通车辆牵引系统从研发转向产业化的重要基础。目前国内牵引联调试验台各系统相对独立,为了完成牵引系统产品的型式试验和组合试验,一般采用人工分别控制几个子系统的方式,完成试验进程、数据采集以及试验报告的出... 牵引联调试验台是轨道交通车辆牵引系统从研发转向产业化的重要基础。目前国内牵引联调试验台各系统相对独立,为了完成牵引系统产品的型式试验和组合试验,一般采用人工分别控制几个子系统的方式,完成试验进程、数据采集以及试验报告的出具,往往存在效率较低、误差较大、试验方法不够标准等问题。为降低人工操作引入误差的几率、提高试验一致性及标准化程度,提出一种列车牵引系统全自动标准试验台。该试验台严格遵循轨道交通牵引系统产品标准GB/T 25122.1—2010《轨道交通机车车辆用电力变流器》及GB/T 25117—2020《轨道交通机车车辆牵引系统组合试验方法》,将被试系统、陪试系统、数据采集系统、试验工装等通过网络有效整合,通过载入试验模板,搭配特定的试验工装,根据预先设定的试验流程进行试验等方法进行协同控制。采用该试验台完成轨道交通牵引系统的出厂前测试,可做到试验无人化,提高了试验效率,确保了试验的规范化及一致性,便于产品验收,有效提升产品的产业化速度。 展开更多

The high energy cosmic-radiation detection(HERD)facility is planned to launch in 2027 and scheduled to be installed on the China Space Station.It serves as a dark matter particle detector,a cosmic ray instrument,and an observatory for high-energy gamma rays.A transition radiation detector placed on one of its lateral sides serves dual purpose,(ⅰ)calibrating HERD's electromagnetic calorimeter in the TeV energy range,and(ⅱ)serving as an independent detector for high-energy gamma rays.In this paper,the prototype readout electronics design of the transition radiation detector is demonstrated,which aims to accurately measure the charge of the anodes using the SAMPA application specific integrated circuit chip.The electronic performance of the prototype system is evaluated in terms of noise,linearity,and resolution.Through the presented design,each electronic channel can achieve a dynamic range of 0–100 fC,the RMS noise level not exceeding 0.15 fC,and the integral nonlinearity was<0.2%.To further verify the readout electronic performance,a joint test with the detector was carried out,and the results show that the prototype system can satisfy the requirements of the detector's scientific goals. 展开更多
