Based on the patent information services platform, we obtain invention patent data for the electronic information industry in Liaoning from 1985 to 2015. This paper analyzes the cooperative innovation network structure, its spatiotemporal evolution and the triple helix relationship of government-industry-university(GIU) by using the social network analysis method and the triple helix theory as well as UCINet, ArcGIS and NetDraw. The empirical results show that: 1) the number of the subjects of the electronic information industry GIU cooperative innovation network in Liaoning demonstrates a gradual increase from 1985 to 2015, with the same trend in concentration. In terms of its subject and its centrality, the universities have a higher position, and the industries have a lower position, while the status of the government is still unclear. 2) The cooperative innovation network presents a core-periphery structure, and the polarization effect of innovation subjects tends to be obvious. There is certain distance-decay regularity in the cooperative innovation network, and a strong geographical proximity to cooperative innovation. 3) The compactness shows a downward trend as a whole. In terms of the extent of participation, the industries are better than the government but worse than the universities. This means that the cooperative innovation network of GIU in the electronic information industry in Liaoning is in the initial stage of formation.展开更多

In this study, the connection between organizational innovation (OI) and OL within the inf3rmation and communication technology (ICT) industry in Malaysia is surveyed. These relationships are examined, because various previous inquiries have shown that an imperative precursor to firm performance is OL. Two hundred and seventy-eight surveys were completed by small and medium organizations across Malaysia. The connections existing between the causes of OL and the causes of OI were ascertained by using structural equation modeling (SEM). Amongst the Malaysian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that participated in fire study, OI and OL are considerably linked.展开更多

The "island phenomenon" negatively affects the transfer and spread of technological achievements, resulting in inefficient technological innovation and transfer, and significantly impedes the implementation of innovation-driven development strategies. The emergence of the "island phenomenon" should be attributed to a failure to give full play to the "invisible hand" of the market and the overreach or absence of government's "visible hand." Local governments can play an important role in eliminating this phenomenon by leading and guiding efforts to enhance improvements in innovation technology and transfers.展开更多

IT is one of the main factors to improve business efficiency. The new technologies such as virtualisation, consolidation, cloud computing, and software-based solutions are great ways to minimise resource use while maximising the business value of information systems. Technologies and innovations are necessary to ride the inevitable tide of change. Most of enterprises are striving to reduce their computing costs through the means of virtualization. This demand of reducing the computing cost has led to the innovation of cloud computing. Cloud technology offers better computing through improved utilization and reduced administration and infrastructure costs. Cloud computing is the sum of Software as a Service (SaaS) and utility computing. Cloud computing represents a fundamental change in the way computing power is generated and distributed, transforming the delivery of IT tools and products into elastic, on demand services characterized by flexible "pay as you go" payment models. More than half of European Union (EU) businesses and consumers already use some kind of cloud services. The diffusion of cloud computing is expected to generate substantial direct and indirect impacts on economic and employment growth in the EU, thanks to the migration to a new IT paradigm enabling greater innovation and productivity. The cost of using digital technologies, such as information service providers, decreases as the number of users increases. All of these factors work together to promote a rapid growth in the demand for, and supply of, IT products and services.展开更多

Methodology: a quantitative design using a questionnaire based on the DeLone and McLean Information System Success Model (2003) was employed to examine the key determinants comprise of SQ (system quality), IQ (information quality), SerQ (service quality) as the independent variables and their effect on the US (user satisfaction), U (system use) and the perceived NB (net benefits) as the success measures. There are 324 respondents consisting of doctors, nurses, technicians, pharmacists and admin staff of hospitals. Data were analyzed using SPSS. Findings: SQ, IQ and SerQ are significantly positively related to US and U, and the two later are in turns significantly positively related to the perceived NB out of the system to both users and organizations. Research implications: the research reflects the experience of using innovative healthcare technologies in the Middle East and its results show the importance of improving the systems technical quality to ensure more satisfied users, more utilized technologies and to reach the optimal purpose of implementing these systems and reap out their prospected benefits. Moreover, sufficient training and full dependency on the systems are required to get more confident users and reduce the daily work load.展开更多

In addition, the task was to develop a model for forecast calculations of labor productivity in the symbiosis of “man + intelligent machine”, where an intelligent machine (IM) is understood as a computer or robot equipped with elements of artificial intelligence (AI), as well as in the digital economy as a whole. In the course of the study, it was shown that in order to implement its goals the Schumpeter-Kondratiev innovation and cycle theory on forming long waves (LW) of economic development influenced by a powerful cluster of economic technologies engendered by industrial revolutions is most appropriate for a long-term forecasting of technological progress and economic growth. The Solow neoclassical model of economic growth, synchronized with LW, gives the opportunity to forecast economic dynamics of technologically advanced countries with a greater precision up to 30 years, the time which correlates with the continuation of LW. In the information and digital age, the key role among the main factors of growth (capital, labour and technological progress) is played by the latter. The authors have developed an information model which allows for forecasting technological progress basing on growth rates of endogenous technological information in economics. The main regimes of producing technological information, corresponding to the eras of information and digital economies, are given in the article, as well as the Lagrangians that engender them. The model is verified on the example of the 5th information LW for the US economy (1982-2018) and it has had highly accurate approximation for both technological progress and economic growth. A number of new results were obtained using the developed information models for forecasting technological progress. The forecasting trajectory of economic growth of developed countries (on the example of the USA) on the upward stage of the 6th LW (2018-2042), engendered by the digital technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution is given. It is also demonstrated that the symbiosis of human and intelligent machine (IM) is the driving force in the digital economy, where man plays the leading role organizing effective and efficient mutual work. Authors suggest a mathematical model for calculating labour productivity in the digital economy, where the symbiosis of “human + IM” is widely used. The calculations carried out with the help of the model show: 1) the symbiosis of “human + IM” from the very beginning lets to realize the possibilities of increasing work performance in the economy with the help of digital technologies;2) the largest labour productivity is achieved in the symbiosis of “human + IM”, where man labour prevails, and the lowest labour productivity is seen where the largest part of the work is performed by IM;3) developed countries may achieve labour productivity of 3% per year by the mid-2020s, which has all the chances to stay up to the 2040s.展开更多

It has a positive effect on the advancement of the corporation's technical innovation. The application of IT can promote the communication among subordinates of a corporation or group, reduce explicit boundaries of the subordinates, and boost the ripple effect of technical innovation of the subordinates. Not only does any subordinate company within a corporation need to assess both technical and economic benefits brought to the corporation itself by technical innovation, but also it should thoroughly analyze how the ripple effect of technical innovation among subordinate companies plays a significant role in the boosting value of the corporation as a whole. In this paper, a scientific approach to assessing technical innovation of a subordinate company is proposed through analyzing the ripple effect of IT-based technical innovation on subordinate companies.展开更多
