Impact of GCP distribution on the rectification accuracy of Landsat TM imagery in a coastal zone 被引量:2

The purpose is to explore the effect of the spatial distribution of ground control points (GCPs) on the accuracy of imagery rectification. Both area-distributed and linearly distributed GCPs were used to rectify a Landsat TM image of a coastal zone. Rectification accuracy was checked against 99 independent points over the intertidal mudflats with no ground control. Results indicate that the root-mean-square error of residuals over these areas is several times larger than its GCPs-measured counterpart. If the GCPs are spatially dispersed over an area, residuals fluctuate but increase steadily with distance to the source of control in easting (R^2= 0. 827). in northing they fluctuate around 150 m until 15 km, beyond which they rise steadily at a small range of fluctuation. These residuals are less predictable from distance to the source of control than in easting (R^2= 0.517 ). If the GCPs are distributed along a control line, residuals rise with distance to it linearly and predictably (R^2 = 0. 877) in the direction perpendicular to it. In a direction parallel to it, the distance has little impact on rectification residuals. 展开更多

The structure of the WMOC is consisted with Polycarbonate (PC) as the core layer material and Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as cladding layer. Since the poor performance of orthogonal binary Pulse Position Modulation (PPM) compared with binary Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM), this paper presents a new modulation scheme named Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for Impulse Radio Ultra-WideBand (IR-UWB) communication systems. This modulation scheme uses pulses with equal amplitude and different widths to carry different information. The receiver employs differences between similarity coefficients among these pulses to distinguish different information. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results verify that this novel scheme has a Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) gain of about 1.75 dB compared with or- thogonal binary PPM, and has an SNR loss of about 1.4 dB compared with binary PAM. Although both the theoretical analysis and simulations are based on time-hopping multiple access, this modulation scheme can also be applied to other accessing techniques of UWB communication systems. 展开更多

In Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) modulation systems, the well-known technique to overcome the Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI)/Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) caused by the inadequate Cyclic Prefix (CP) length is to use a Time-Domain Equalizer (TDE) at the receiver front-end. An algorithm used to calculate the coefficients of the optimal shortening Time Domain Equalizer (TDE) was given by Melsa. However, this algorithm requires that the length of the TDE must be smaller than or equal to the memory length of the target impulse response. This paper modifies this algorithm and makes it not only fit for calculating the coefficients of the TDE with arbitrary length, but also have a much less computational time. 展开更多

Based on the theory of Projection Onto Convex Set (POCS),this paper constructs Quantization Constraint Set (QCS) using the quantization information extracted from the video bit stream. By combining the statistical properties of image and the Human Visual System (HVS),a novel Adaptive Quantization Constraint Set (AQCS) is proposed. Simulation results show that AQCS-based SR al-gorithm converges at a fast rate and obtains better performance in both objective and subjective quality,which is applicable for compressed video. 展开更多

A joint cooperation diversity and symbol mapping diversity (SMD) strategy is proposed for cooperative packet retransmission system with high-order modulation such as 16QAM. Substantial SER/BER (symbol error rate/bit error rate) gains result from multiple packet transmissions over independent paths and distinct bit-to-symbol mappings for each packet transmis-sion. The SER/BER performance of relay assisted retransmission system is analyzed. Simulation results show that the joint-diversity strategy can provide more BER gains than other relaying strategies (i.e., decode-and-forward and constellation rearrangement relaying strategies) when no relay makes a decision error; but if some relays make decision errors, the joint-di-versity strategy outperforms other relaying strategies only when the relays are closer to the source than to the destination. 展开更多

This paper introduces the design and implementation of a cache performance tuning tool named CTuning, which employs a source level instrumentation method to gather program data access information, and uses a limited reuse distance model to analyze cache behavior. Experiments on 183.equake improve average performance more than 6% and show that CTuning is proficient not only in locating cache performance bottlenecks to guide manual code transformation, but also in analyzing cache behavior relationship among variables, thus to direct manual data reorganization. 展开更多

Using the hypothesis that data transmitted by different users are statistically independent of each other,this paper proposes a fixed-point blind adaptive multiuser detection algorithm for Time-Hopping (TH) Impulse Radio (IR) Ultra Wide Band (UWB) systems in multipath channel,which is based on Independent Component Analysis (ICA) idea. The proposed algorithm employs maximizing negentropy criterion to separate the data packets of different users. Then the user characteristic se-quences are utilized to identify the data packet order of the desired user. This algorithm only needs the desired user’s characteristic sequence instead of channel information,power information and time-hoping code of any user. Due to using hypothesis of statistical independence among users,the proposed algorithm has the outstanding Bit Error Rate (BER) performance and the excellent ability of near-far resistance. Simulation results demonstrate that this algorithm has the performance close to that of Maximum-Likelihood (ML) algorithm and is a suboptimum blind adaptive multiuser detection algorithm of excellent near-far resistance and low complexity. 展开更多

Further, noninteger searching method for the signal constellation parameters design is proposed in order to get better codes. Experimental results show that under the different Doppler spread and data transmission rate, the proposed design performs better than the previous design using integer parameters in Multiple Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system over frequency-selective fading channels. 展开更多

In this paper a novel QoS Routing Algorithm based on Simulated Annealing (SA_RA) is proposed. This algorithm first uses an energy function to translate multiple QoS weights into a single mixed metric and then seeks to find a feasible path by simulated annealing. The pa- per outlines simulated annealing algorithm and analyzes the problems met when we apply it to Qos Routing (QoSR) in MANETs. Theoretical analysis and experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method is an effective approximation algorithms showing better performance than the other pertinent algorithm in seeking the (approximate) optimal configuration within a period of polynomial time. 展开更多

The hardware mainly consists of the light source for reading, WMOC, motorized stages addressing unit, microscope imaging unit, CCD detecting unit and PC controlling & processing unit. The movement of the precision motorized stage is controlled by the computer through Visual Basic (VB) language in software. A control panel is also designed to get the layer address and the page address through which the position of the motorized stages can be changed. The complexity and cost of devices sometimes may be greatly reduced by using complete optical control and may be more flexible in operation than other methods. However the light actuation of liquid is a burgeoning field as well as optofluidics. There is lots of work to do. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are being deployed for a wide variety of applications and the security problems of them have received considerable attention. Considering the limitations of power, computation capability and storage resources, this paper proposed an efficient defense against collusion scheme based on elliptic curve cryptography for wireless sensor networks in order to solve the problems that sensor node-key leaking and adversaries make compromised nodes as their collusions to launch new attack. In the proposed scheme, the group-key distribution strategy is employed to compute the private key of each sensor node, and the encryption and decryption algorithms are constructed based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). The command center (node) only needs to broadcast a controlling header with three group elements, and the authorized sensor node can correctly recover the session key and use it to decrypt the broadcasting message. Analysis and proof of the proposed scheme's efficiency and security show that the proposed scheme can resist the k-collusion attack efficiently. 展开更多

Compressed sensing,a new area of signal processing rising in recent years,seeks to minimize the number of samples that is necessary to be taken from a signal for precise reconstruction.The precondition of compressed sensing theory is the sparsity of signals.In this paper,two methods to estimate the sparsity level of the signal are formulated.And then an approach to estimate the sparsity level directly from the noisy signal is presented.Moreover,a scheme based on distributed compressed sensing for speech signal denoising is described in this work which exploits multiple measurements of the noisy speech signal to construct the block-sparse data and then reconstruct the original speech signal using block-sparse model-based Compressive Sampling Matching Pursuit(CoSaMP) algorithm.Several simulation results demonstrate the accuracy of the estimated sparsity level and that this de-noising system for noisy speech signals can achieve favorable performance especially when speech signals suffer severe noise. 展开更多

A new non-invasive method is developed with the closed-loop normal operating data. The redundant dyadic discrete wavelet transform is used to decompose the data at different resolution scales. Based on the Lipschitz regularity theory, wavelet coefficients analysis across scales is performed to detect the jumps in the controlled variables. Adaptive wavelet de-noising is then applied to the data. Features of the valve stiction patterns are extracted from the de-noised data and the valve stiction probability is calculated. 展开更多

A new SOI (Silicon On Insulator) high voltage device with Step Unmovable Surface Charges (SUSC) of buried oxide layer and its analytical breakdown model are proposed in the paper. The unmovable charges are implemented into the upper surface of buried oxide layer to increase the vertical electric field and uniform the lateral one. The 2-D Poisson's equation is solved to demonstrate the modulation effect of the immobile interface charges and analyze the electric field and breakdown voltage with the various geometric parameters and step numbers. A new RESURF (REduce SURface Field) condition of the SOl device considering the interface charges and buried oxide is derived to maximize breakdown voltage. The analytical results are in good agreement with the numerical analysis obtained by the 2-D semiconductor devices simulator MEDICI. As a result, an 1200V breakdown voltage is firstly obtained in 3pro-thick top Si layer, 2pro-thick buried oxide layer and 70pro-length drift region using a linear doping profile of unmovable buried oxide charges. 展开更多
