Objective:Existing research shows that psychotherapists may experience secondary trauma and burnout,often neglecting self-care.This study aims to examine the effectiveness of self-care education in enhancing self-care...Objective:Existing research shows that psychotherapists may experience secondary trauma and burnout,often neglecting self-care.This study aims to examine the effectiveness of self-care education in enhancing self-care efficacy among psychotherapists and explore factors affecting improvements in their self-care abilities.Methods:A self-care workshop was conducted for 159 psychotherapists from various fields.Participants’demographic information and self-care ability data were collected.The Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA)was used to assess the participant’s self-care levels before and after the workshop.Results:Post-workshop,ESCA total scores and subscale scores of participants showed significant increases(all P<0.001).Notably,score improvement levels differed by gender and years of practice,with female therapists showing greater improvement than male therapists(t=2.069,P=0.040)and those with longer work experience showing greater improvement than those with shorter experience(F=2.537,P=0.042).Conclusion:Providing self-care education for psychotherapists is essential.Future self care education programs or interventions for psychotherapists should consider gender and work experience factors to better support their self-care enhancement.展开更多

The likelihood of contracting HBV is greater in healthcare workers (HCWs) compared to individuals who are not in healthcare professions. Medical students are classified as a high-risk demographic since, like HCWs, they often come into contact with bodily fluids and blood during their clinical training. By 2030, a greater proportion of people will have received HBV vaccinations, thereby halting the spread of new infections—The Somali Ministry of Health with the help of various agencies announced to eradicate hepatitis from Somalia. The priority actions are national hepatitis strategy, hepatitis survey, public awareness, training, and capacity building. Objectives: This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitude, and vaccination status of Hepatitis B infection among medical university students in Mogadishu, Somalia, 2024. Methods: Cross-sectional study design was used in this study and the survey was carried out among medical students enrolled in Universities from April 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 26.0 software, Chi-square analysis and Logistic regression analysis to identify associations between demographic factors and HBV knowledge, attitudes, and vaccination status, as well as perspectives and immunization status concerning viral hepatitis. Results: The study achieved a response rate of (96%), with 230 participants. Most students (76.5%) were aged 26 - 30 years, and (60.8%) were male. Nearly half (48.7%) were in their third year of study, and the majority (36.1%) were from the Medicine and Surgery department. While 92.2% had heard of HBV, gaps in understanding were evident. About 37.8% erroneously believed HBV could spread via handshakes, and only 33.9% were aware HBV is treatable. Awareness of HBV’s severe complications, such as liver cirrhosis and liver cancer, was reported by 61.3%, and 83% understood that vaccination could prevent infection. Positive attitudes towards HBV vaccination were prevalent. Most participants (81.3%) supported vaccination before sexual activity, and 78.3% endorsed mandatory HBV vaccination policies for healthcare workers. However, 87.4% expressed concerns about the vaccine promoting unsafe sexual behavior, and 96.1% cited cultural resistance as a barrier to vaccination. A significant proportion (80.86%) of students had not been vaccinated against HBV. Among vaccinated students, 17.4%, 15.7%, and 47.82% had received one, two, and three doses, respectively. Barriers to vaccination included safety concerns (77.4%), lack of time (86.52%), and doubts about efficacy (42.61%). Conclusion: This study highlights gaps in knowledge and vaccination coverage among medical students, which are critical for their health and future clinical practice. Enhancing awareness and vaccination rates can empower students to advocate for preventative measures in their professional environments. Despite high awareness of HBV, knowledge gaps and cultural barriers persist, affecting attitudes and vaccination uptake among medical students. Educational interventions addressing misconceptions, cultural resistance, and vaccine safety are critical. Increased advocacy for mandatory vaccination policies in healthcare settings is also essential to improve HBV prevention methods.展开更多

The data was collected through self-prepared attitude scale. It was distributed among the teachers and students of various schools. Two hundred students and one hundred twenty teachers responded to the questionnaire. Analysis was done through the data collected from the teachers as well as from students. The study’s conclusions demonstrated that while there was no significant variation in the attitudes of teachers utilizing different ICT-based programs, there was a substantial difference in the students’ attitude toward learning with different ICT-based programs.展开更多
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)remains one of the most common malignancies worldwide,with a significant subset of patients exhibiting absence of carcinoembryonic-antigen(CEA)expression.The lack of effective diagnost...BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)remains one of the most common malignancies worldwide,with a significant subset of patients exhibiting absence of carcinoembryonic-antigen(CEA)expression.The lack of effective diagnostic method for CEA-negative CRC prevents its early treatment.AIM To identify potentially valuable biomarkers for identifying CEA-negative CRC,the hematological characteristics of patients with CEA-negative CRC was investigated.METHODS In this retrospective analysis,74 patients were included who had been pathologically confirmed to have CEA-negative CRC,along with 79 individuals diagnosed with benign colorectal conditions.The utility of various biomarkers was evaluated using analysis of the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.RESULTS Compared with patients with benign colorectal diseases,those with CEA-negative CRC had lower hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio(HRR)and lymphocyte-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio(LRR),and higher platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that HRR was negatively correlated with T stage(r=-0.237),LRR was negatively correlated with T stage(r=-0.265)and distant metastasis(r=-0.321),and PLR was positively correlated with T stage(r=0.251)(all P<0.05).ROC analysis indicated that HRR outperformed LRR and PLR in identifying CEA-negative CRC.Combining HRR and PLR provided the highest area under the curve(area under the curve=0.808;sensitivity=82.43%;specificity=68.35%)for distinguishing CEA-negative CRC from benign colorectal diseases.CONCLUSION HRR,LRR,and PLR alone or in combination could be used to distinguish CEA-negative CRC from benign colorectal diseases.展开更多

Explosive cyclones(ECs)occur frequently over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region.The most rapidly intensified EC over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region during the 42 years(1979-2020)of cold seasons(October-Apr...Explosive cyclones(ECs)occur frequently over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region.The most rapidly intensified EC over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region during the 42 years(1979-2020)of cold seasons(October-April)was studied to reveal the variations of the key factors at different explosive-developing stages.This EC had weak low-level baroclinicity,mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection,and strong low-level water vapor convergence at the initial explosive-developing stage.The low-level baroclinicity and mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection increased substantially during the maximum-deepening-rate stage.The diagnostic analyses using the Zwack-Okossi equation showed that diabatic heating was the main contributor to the initial rapid intensification of this EC.The cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection enhanced rapidly in the middle and upper troposphere and contributed to the maximum rapid intensification,whereas the diabatic heating weakened slightly in the mid-low troposphere.The relative contribution of the diabatic heating decreased from the initial explosive-developing stage to the maximum-deepening-rate stage due to the enhancement of other factors(the cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection).Furthermore,the physical factors contributing to this EC varied with the explosive-developing stage.The non-key factors at the initial explosive-developing stage need attention to forecast the rapid intensification.展开更多
BACKGROUND A new nomenclature of metabolic associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD)was proposed in 2023,thus expanding the diagnostic name of“MASLD combined with other etiologies”.AIM To investigate the clinical pr...BACKGROUND A new nomenclature of metabolic associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD)was proposed in 2023,thus expanding the diagnostic name of“MASLD combined with other etiologies”.AIM To investigate the clinical profiles of patients with concurrent MASLD and ch-ronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection.METHODS This study included participants from the Taiwan Bio-bank.The diagnostic cri-teria of MASLD encompassed hepatic steatosis and any cardio-metabolic risk factors.Positive hepatitis B surface antigen was considered indicative of chronic HBV infection.Dual etiology was defined as MASLD combined with chronic HBV infection(MASLD-HBV).Fibrosis 4(FIB-4)score determined the severity of liver fibrosis,and athero-sclerosis was diagnosed by the presence of carotid plaques on duplex ultrasound.RESULTS In a total of 18980 participants(mean age,55.18±10.35 years;males,30.42%),there were 7654(40.3%)MASLD patients and 2128(11.2%)HBV carriers.After propensity score matching for age and gender,HBV carriers had a lower percentage of MASLD than healthy controls.Those with dual etiology had higher aspartate aminotrans-ferase,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),and FIB-4 levels,but lower gamma glutamyl transferase(GGT)levels than MASLD patients.In contrast,those with dual etiology had higher ALT and GGT levels,but lower FIB-4 than“HBV alone”patients.The risk of atherosclerosis was similar among these three groups.CONCLUSION MASLD-HBV patients have worse liver fibrosis severity than MASLD patients,but better liver fibrosis stage than“HBV alone”patients,suggesting a complex interaction between MASLD and chronic HBV infection.展开更多

Findings revealed that: despite the positive attitude shown by students towards environmental education, a relatively low level of understanding of environmental concept was recorded in school settings regardless of efforts by government and other environmental agencies at creating awareness about environmental related issues. This brought about the investigation of students' environmental education knowledge in high school settings. About 205 students were randomly selected for data collection using validated instruments titled student's knowledge and attitude questionnaire as well as student's response to questions (interview) concerning global warming. T-test statistics, chi-square and simple percentage were the major statistical tools employed in data analysis. This study revealed that environment based-education (school curriculum) as well as efforts by government/environmental agencies (mass media) plays a major role in promoting students' understanding, of environmental concepts, awareness of major environmental issues and positive attitude towards natural environment.展开更多

Amino acids are the primary form of nitrogen utilization in higher plants,mainly transported by amino acid transporters.In this study,we analyzed the natural variation of amino acid transporter-like 4(OsATL4)in rice g...Amino acids are the primary form of nitrogen utilization in higher plants,mainly transported by amino acid transporters.In this study,we analyzed the natural variation of amino acid transporter-like 4(OsATL4)in rice germplasm resources,identified its spatiotemporal expression characteristics,determined its substrate transport,and validated its function using transgenic plants.We found that the promoter sequence of OsATL4 varied across 498 rice varieties.The expression level of OsATL4 was higher in japonica rice,which was negatively correlated with tiller number and grain yield.OsATL4 was highly expressed in the basal part,leaf sheath,stem,and young panicle,with its two splicing variants localized to the cell membrane.OsATL4a(the long splicing variant)had a high affinity for transporting Ser,Leu,Phe,and Thr,while OsATL4b(the short splicing variant)had a high affinity for transporting Ser,Leu,and Phe.Blocking OsATL4 promoted axillary bud outgrowth,rice tillering,and grain yield,whereas overexpression lines exhibited the opposite phenotype.Exogenous application of low concentrations of Ser promoted axillary bud outgrowth in overexpression lines,while high concentrations of Ser inhibited it.Conversely,the mutant lines showed the opposite response.Altered expression of OsATL4 might affect the expression of genes in nitrogen,auxin,and cytokinin pathways.We propose that two splicing variants of OsATL4 negatively regulate rice tillering and yield by mediating the transport of amino acids,making it a significant target for high-yield rice breeding.展开更多
Zhanjiang Bay is a major aquaculture area in China with many types of mariculture products(such as oysters,fish,and shrimp).The culture area and shrimp output in Zhanjiang Bay are ranked first in China.We investigated...Zhanjiang Bay is a major aquaculture area in China with many types of mariculture products(such as oysters,fish,and shrimp).The culture area and shrimp output in Zhanjiang Bay are ranked first in China.We investigated the total organic carbon(TOC),total nitrogen(TN),TOC/TN ratio,and stable isotopes(δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N) of the fish and shrimp feed,fish and shrimp feces,and sedimentary organic matter(SOM) in and around different aquaculture areas of northeastern Zhanjiang B ay to study the impact of aquaculture activities on SOM.The average TOC contents of fish and shrimp feed were 39.20%±0.91% and 39.29%±0.21%,respectively.The average TOC content in the surface sediments of the oyster culture area,the mixed(fish and shrimp) culture area,and the cage fish farm area were 0.66%,0.88%±0.10%,and 0.58%±0.19%,respectively,which may indicate that mixed culture had a greater impact on SOM.The relatively high TOC and TN contents and relatively low TOC/TN ratios,and δ^(15)N values in the upper layer of the core sediment in the mixed culture area could also support the significant influence of mixed culture.The average δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values of fish and shrimp feed were -20.6‰±2.2‰ and 1.8‰±1.2‰,respectively,which were different from the isotopic values of SOM in the study area.δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values for SOM in different aquaculture areas were different from those of nearby reference stations,probably reflecting the influence of aquaculture.The δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values in the oyster culture area(-25.9‰ and6.0‰,respectively) seemed to have reduced δ^(13)C and enriched δ^(15)N relative to those of the reference station(-24.6‰ and 5.8‰,respectively).This may reflect the influence of organic matter on oyster culture.The δ^(15)N value of the station in the mixed culture area(7.1‰±0.4‰) seemed to be relatively enriched in δ^(15)N relative to that of the reference station(6.6‰).Sedimentation and the subsequent degradation of organic matter from mixed cultures may have contributed to this phenomenon.The surface sediment at the cage fish farm area seemed to be affected by fish feces and primary production based on the indication of δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values.The sediment core at the mixed culture region(NS6) had lower TOC/TN ratios and more positive δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values than the sediment core at the oyster culture area,suggesting a higher proportionate contribution of marine organic matter in the mixed culture area.In summary,oyster culture,mixed culture,and cage fish culture in northeastern Zhanjiang Bay had a certain degree of impact on SOM,and mixed culture had more significant influences on SOM based on the high TOC contents and the significant vertical variations of TOC/TN ratio and δ^(15)N value in the sediment of this area.This study provides new insights into the impact of aquaculture activities on SOM content.展开更多
Eutrophication in coastal waters has been increasing remarkably,severely impacting the water quality in mariculture bays.In this study,we conducted multiple isotopic measurements on suspended particulate nitrogen(δ^(...Eutrophication in coastal waters has been increasing remarkably,severely impacting the water quality in mariculture bays.In this study,we conducted multiple isotopic measurements on suspended particulate nitrogen(δ^(15)N-PN) and dissolved nitrate(δ^(15)N-NO_(3)^(-)and δ^(18)O-NO_(3)^(-)) in Zhanjiang Bay,a typical mariculture bay with a high level of eutrophication in South China,to investigate the changes in nitrogen sources and their cycling between the rainy and dry seasons.During the rainy season,the study found no significant relation between δ^(15)NPN and δ^(15)N-NO_(3)^(-)due to the impact of heavy rainfall and terrestrial erosion.In the upper bay,a slight nitrate loss and slightly higher δ_(15)N-NO_(3)^(-)and δ^(18)O-NO_(3)^(-)values were observed,attributed to intense physical sedimentwater interactions.Despite some fluctuations,nitrate concentrations in the lower bay mainly aligned with the theoretical mixing line during the rainy season,suggesting that nitrate was primarily influenced by terrestrial erosion and that nitrate isotopes resembled the source.Consequently,the isotopic values of nitrate can be used for source apportionment in the rainy season.The results indicated that soil nitrogen(36%) and manure and sewage(33%) were the predominant nitrogen sources contributing to nitrogen loads during this period.In contrast,the dry season saw a deficient ammonium concentration(<0.2 μmol/L) in the bay,due to nearly complete consumption by phytoplankton during the red tide period.Additionally,the significant loss of nitrate and simultaneous increase in the stable isotopes of dissolved and particulate nitrogen suggest a strong coupling of assimilation and mineralization during the dry season.More active biogeochemical processes during the dry season may be related to decreased runoff and increased water retention time.Overall,our study illustrated the major seasonal nitrogen sources and their dynamics in Zhanjiang B ay,providing valuable insights for formulating effective policies to mitigate eutrophication in mariculture bays.展开更多

Highly productive estuaries facilitate intense decomposition of dissolved organic matter(DOM) as a carbon source.However,the specific impacts of typhoons on DOM decomposition in eutrophic bays remain unclear.To addres...Highly productive estuaries facilitate intense decomposition of dissolved organic matter(DOM) as a carbon source.However,the specific impacts of typhoons on DOM decomposition in eutrophic bays remain unclear.To address this issue,we investigated the spectral characteristics of DOM before and after Typhoon Ewiniar in Zhanjiang B ay,a eutrophic semi-enclosed bay in the northwestern South China Sea.The results revealed that intense microbial decomposition of DOM occurred during the pre-typhoon period because high nutrient inputs facilitated the mobilization of DOM in the bay.However,the intrusion of external seawater induced by the typhoon diluted the nutrient levels in Zhanjiang B ay,reducing the impact of microbial decomposition on DOM during the post-typhoon perio d.Nevertheless,the net addition of DOM occurred in Zhanjiang Bay during the post-typhoon period,possibly because of the decomposition of particulate organic matter(POM) and desorption of particulate matter.In addition,an increase in apparent oxygen utilization,a decrease in DO saturation and the reduced level of Chl a indicated that organic matter(OM) decomposition was enhanced and OM decomposition shifted to POM decomposition in Zhanjiang Bay after the typhoon.Overall,our study highlighted the shift in the intense OM decomposition from DOM to POM decomposition before and after typhoons in eutrophic bays,providing new insights into the response of typhoons to biogeo chemistry.展开更多
The perception of nursing staff’s attitude influences patient fear.Understanding this dynamic is crucial for fostering a supportive environment conducive to patient well-being and effective healthcare practices.The p...The perception of nursing staff’s attitude influences patient fear.Understanding this dynamic is crucial for fostering a supportive environment conducive to patient well-being and effective healthcare practices.The purpose of this research is to investigate how the attitudes and behaviours of nursing staff influence the fear and anxiety levels of patients recovering from benign tumors,aiming to improve patient care and recovery outcomes.Data was collected from a sample of 100 participants,comprising 20 nursing staff and 80 patients recovering from benign tumors.Surveys were administered to gather quantitative data on attitudes and fear levels.Participants were selected randomly from hospital records and outpatient clinics.Our analysis encompassed nursing staff attitude,patient fear levels,the influence of family support,progression of tumor recovery,patient-reported satisfaction,and the quality of healthcare services provided.The quantitative aspect utilized PLS-SEM software to perform regression analysis,evaluating both direct and indirect effects.Statistical analysis assessed the relationships between nursing staff attitudes,patient fear during benign tumor recovery,and the mediating role of family support.The findings of the study demonstrate that better nurse attitudes(Hypothesis 1,β=0.45,p<0.001)and stronger family support(Hypothesis 2,β=0.32;p<0.001) are linked to lower levels of patient fear.Partially mediating the relationship between nurse attitudes and patient fear,according to Hypothesis 3(β=0.28,p<0.002),is family support.Patients’perceptions of family support are highly influenced by nursing behaviour,as demonstrated by Hypothesis 4(β=0.38;p<0.001).Our research showed a strong relationship between the attitudes of nursing personnel and patient fear levels.Family support demonstrated a strong mediating effect on patient fear.Patient-reported satisfaction is positively correlated with family support.However,no significant relationship was found between healthcare service quality and patient fear.展开更多
This study aims to investigate characteristics of continental shelf wave(CSW)on the northwestern continental shelf of the South China Sea(SCS)induced by winter storms in 2021.Mooring and cruise observations,tidal gaug...This study aims to investigate characteristics of continental shelf wave(CSW)on the northwestern continental shelf of the South China Sea(SCS)induced by winter storms in 2021.Mooring and cruise observations,tidal gauge data at stations Hong Kong,Zhapo and Qinglan and sea surface wind data from January 1 to February 28,2021 are used to examine the relationship between along-shelf wind and sea level fluctuation.Two events of CSWs driven by the along-shelf sea surface wind are detected from wavelet spectra of tidal gauge data.The signals are triply peaked at periods of 56 h,94 h and 180 h,propagating along the coast with phase speed ranging from 6.9 m/s to18.9 m/s.The dispersion relation shows their property of the Kelvin mode of CSW.We develop a simple method to estimate amplitude of sea surface fluctuation by along-shelf wind.The results are comparable with the observation data,suggesting it is effective.The mode 2 CSWs fits very well with the mooring current velocity data.The results from rare current help to understand wave-current interaction in the northwestern SCS.展开更多
A warm corona has been widely proposed to explain the soft excess(SE)in X-ray above the 2-10 ke V power law extrapolation in Active Galactic Nuclei(AGNs).In actual spectral fittings,the warm coronal seed photon temper...A warm corona has been widely proposed to explain the soft excess(SE)in X-ray above the 2-10 ke V power law extrapolation in Active Galactic Nuclei(AGNs).In actual spectral fittings,the warm coronal seed photon temperature(T_s)is usually assumed to be far away from the soft X-ray,but kT_scan reach close to 0.1 ke V in the standard accretion disk model.In this study,we used Monte Carlo simulations to obtain radiation spectra from a slab-like warm corona and fitted the spectra using the spherical-geometry-based routine THCOMP or a thermal component.Our findings reveal tha high T_scan influence the fitting results.A moderately high kT_s(around 0.03 ke V)can result in an apparent low-temperature and flat SE,while an extremely high kT_s(around 0.07 ke V)can even produce an unobserved blackbody-like SE.Our conclusions indicate that,for spectral fittings of the warm coronal radiation(SE in AGNs),kT_sshould be treated as a free parameter with an upper limit,and an accurate coronal geometry is necessary when kT_s>0.01 ke V.展开更多
Variability is one of the typical observational properties of blazars and the spectral changes are usually associated with variability,although this kind of association is unclear yet.In this work,we used data from th...Variability is one of the typical observational properties of blazars and the spectral changes are usually associated with variability,although this kind of association is unclear yet.In this work,we used data from the Steward Observatory blazar monitoring program to investigate the optical variability properties including the short-term timescale,the brightness-dependent spectral property,the correlation between the the brightness variation and the polarization,and then estimate the Doppler factors based on the obtained short timescale to study the polarization property for a sample of 20 TeV blazars.Our analyses arrive at the following results:(1)The largest variation amplitude in R-band,ΔR_(M),covers a range from ΔR_(M)=0.29 mag(1ES 2344+514)to ΔR_(M)=4.66 mag(3C 279).(2)Intra-day variability was found from five sources with timescales from 0.14 day for S50716+714 to 0.98 day for PKS 2155-304.Sixteen sources show spectra that are bluer when they become brighter,suggesting a common bluer-when-brighter property.(3)The plot of the polarization versus estimated Doppler factor is consistent with the Doppler factor dependent formula of polarization.(4)The largest polarization is correlated with the largest optical variation,suggesting that the high polarization and high amplitude variation are both the indicator of beaming effect.展开更多

文摘Objective:Existing research shows that psychotherapists may experience secondary trauma and burnout,often neglecting self-care.This study aims to examine the effectiveness of self-care education in enhancing self-care efficacy among psychotherapists and explore factors affecting improvements in their self-care abilities.Methods:A self-care workshop was conducted for 159 psychotherapists from various fields.Participants’demographic information and self-care ability data were collected.The Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA)was used to assess the participant’s self-care levels before and after the workshop.Results:Post-workshop,ESCA total scores and subscale scores of participants showed significant increases(all P<0.001).Notably,score improvement levels differed by gender and years of practice,with female therapists showing greater improvement than male therapists(t=2.069,P=0.040)and those with longer work experience showing greater improvement than those with shorter experience(F=2.537,P=0.042).Conclusion:Providing self-care education for psychotherapists is essential.Future self care education programs or interventions for psychotherapists should consider gender and work experience factors to better support their self-care enhancement.
文摘Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a primary reason for liver cancer and continues to be a worldwide public health issue. The likelihood of contracting HBV is greater in healthcare workers (HCWs) compared to individuals who are not in healthcare professions. Medical students are classified as a high-risk demographic since, like HCWs, they often come into contact with bodily fluids and blood during their clinical training. By 2030, a greater proportion of people will have received HBV vaccinations, thereby halting the spread of new infections—The Somali Ministry of Health with the help of various agencies announced to eradicate hepatitis from Somalia. The priority actions are national hepatitis strategy, hepatitis survey, public awareness, training, and capacity building. Objectives: This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitude, and vaccination status of Hepatitis B infection among medical university students in Mogadishu, Somalia, 2024. Methods: Cross-sectional study design was used in this study and the survey was carried out among medical students enrolled in Universities from April 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 26.0 software, Chi-square analysis and Logistic regression analysis to identify associations between demographic factors and HBV knowledge, attitudes, and vaccination status, as well as perspectives and immunization status concerning viral hepatitis. Results: The study achieved a response rate of (96%), with 230 participants. Most students (76.5%) were aged 26 - 30 years, and (60.8%) were male. Nearly half (48.7%) were in their third year of study, and the majority (36.1%) were from the Medicine and Surgery department. While 92.2% had heard of HBV, gaps in understanding were evident. About 37.8% erroneously believed HBV could spread via handshakes, and only 33.9% were aware HBV is treatable. Awareness of HBV’s severe complications, such as liver cirrhosis and liver cancer, was reported by 61.3%, and 83% understood that vaccination could prevent infection. Positive attitudes towards HBV vaccination were prevalent. Most participants (81.3%) supported vaccination before sexual activity, and 78.3% endorsed mandatory HBV vaccination policies for healthcare workers. However, 87.4% expressed concerns about the vaccine promoting unsafe sexual behavior, and 96.1% cited cultural resistance as a barrier to vaccination. A significant proportion (80.86%) of students had not been vaccinated against HBV. Among vaccinated students, 17.4%, 15.7%, and 47.82% had received one, two, and three doses, respectively. Barriers to vaccination included safety concerns (77.4%), lack of time (86.52%), and doubts about efficacy (42.61%). Conclusion: This study highlights gaps in knowledge and vaccination coverage among medical students, which are critical for their health and future clinical practice. Enhancing awareness and vaccination rates can empower students to advocate for preventative measures in their professional environments. Despite high awareness of HBV, knowledge gaps and cultural barriers persist, affecting attitudes and vaccination uptake among medical students. Educational interventions addressing misconceptions, cultural resistance, and vaccine safety are critical. Increased advocacy for mandatory vaccination policies in healthcare settings is also essential to improve HBV prevention methods.
文摘There is curiosity and awareness throughout the world regarding the role of Information and Communication technologies. This is felt in each and every section of society. Several studies have confirmed and considered information and communication technology’s significance in the field of education. It has not only affected learners but also to the teachers. This paper explores how ICT-based projects affect teachers’ and students’ attitudes. The data was collected through self-prepared attitude scale. It was distributed among the teachers and students of various schools. Two hundred students and one hundred twenty teachers responded to the questionnaire. Analysis was done through the data collected from the teachers as well as from students. The study’s conclusions demonstrated that while there was no significant variation in the attitudes of teachers utilizing different ICT-based programs, there was a substantial difference in the students’ attitude toward learning with different ICT-based programs.

文摘BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)remains one of the most common malignancies worldwide,with a significant subset of patients exhibiting absence of carcinoembryonic-antigen(CEA)expression.The lack of effective diagnostic method for CEA-negative CRC prevents its early treatment.AIM To identify potentially valuable biomarkers for identifying CEA-negative CRC,the hematological characteristics of patients with CEA-negative CRC was investigated.METHODS In this retrospective analysis,74 patients were included who had been pathologically confirmed to have CEA-negative CRC,along with 79 individuals diagnosed with benign colorectal conditions.The utility of various biomarkers was evaluated using analysis of the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.RESULTS Compared with patients with benign colorectal diseases,those with CEA-negative CRC had lower hemoglobin-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio(HRR)and lymphocyte-to-red blood cell distribution width ratio(LRR),and higher platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that HRR was negatively correlated with T stage(r=-0.237),LRR was negatively correlated with T stage(r=-0.265)and distant metastasis(r=-0.321),and PLR was positively correlated with T stage(r=0.251)(all P<0.05).ROC analysis indicated that HRR outperformed LRR and PLR in identifying CEA-negative CRC.Combining HRR and PLR provided the highest area under the curve(area under the curve=0.808;sensitivity=82.43%;specificity=68.35%)for distinguishing CEA-negative CRC from benign colorectal diseases.CONCLUSION HRR,LRR,and PLR alone or in combination could be used to distinguish CEA-negative CRC from benign colorectal diseases.

文摘Explosive cyclones(ECs)occur frequently over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region.The most rapidly intensified EC over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region during the 42 years(1979-2020)of cold seasons(October-April)was studied to reveal the variations of the key factors at different explosive-developing stages.This EC had weak low-level baroclinicity,mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection,and strong low-level water vapor convergence at the initial explosive-developing stage.The low-level baroclinicity and mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection increased substantially during the maximum-deepening-rate stage.The diagnostic analyses using the Zwack-Okossi equation showed that diabatic heating was the main contributor to the initial rapid intensification of this EC.The cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection enhanced rapidly in the middle and upper troposphere and contributed to the maximum rapid intensification,whereas the diabatic heating weakened slightly in the mid-low troposphere.The relative contribution of the diabatic heating decreased from the initial explosive-developing stage to the maximum-deepening-rate stage due to the enhancement of other factors(the cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection).Furthermore,the physical factors contributing to this EC varied with the explosive-developing stage.The non-key factors at the initial explosive-developing stage need attention to forecast the rapid intensification.

文摘BACKGROUND A new nomenclature of metabolic associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD)was proposed in 2023,thus expanding the diagnostic name of“MASLD combined with other etiologies”.AIM To investigate the clinical profiles of patients with concurrent MASLD and ch-ronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection.METHODS This study included participants from the Taiwan Bio-bank.The diagnostic cri-teria of MASLD encompassed hepatic steatosis and any cardio-metabolic risk factors.Positive hepatitis B surface antigen was considered indicative of chronic HBV infection.Dual etiology was defined as MASLD combined with chronic HBV infection(MASLD-HBV).Fibrosis 4(FIB-4)score determined the severity of liver fibrosis,and athero-sclerosis was diagnosed by the presence of carotid plaques on duplex ultrasound.RESULTS In a total of 18980 participants(mean age,55.18±10.35 years;males,30.42%),there were 7654(40.3%)MASLD patients and 2128(11.2%)HBV carriers.After propensity score matching for age and gender,HBV carriers had a lower percentage of MASLD than healthy controls.Those with dual etiology had higher aspartate aminotrans-ferase,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),and FIB-4 levels,but lower gamma glutamyl transferase(GGT)levels than MASLD patients.In contrast,those with dual etiology had higher ALT and GGT levels,but lower FIB-4 than“HBV alone”patients.The risk of atherosclerosis was similar among these three groups.CONCLUSION MASLD-HBV patients have worse liver fibrosis severity than MASLD patients,but better liver fibrosis stage than“HBV alone”patients,suggesting a complex interaction between MASLD and chronic HBV infection.

文摘Dual-phase and three-phase grating x-ray interference is a promising new technique for grating-based x-ray differential phase contrast imaging.Dual-phase grating interferometers have been relatively completely studied and discussed.In this paper,the corresponding imaging fringe formula of the three-phase grating interferometer is provided.At the same time,the similarities and differences between the three-phase grating interferometer and the dual-phase grating interferometer are investigated and verified,and that the three-phase grating interferometer can produce large-period moiréfringes without using the analyzing grating is demonstrated experimentally.Finally,a simple method of designing three-phase grating and multi-grating imaging systems from geometric optics based on the thin-lens theory of gratings is presented.These theoretical formulas and experimental results provide optimization tools for designing three-phase grating interferometer systems.
文摘The purpose of this study was to investigate student's awareness, knowledge and understanding of environmental issues for sustainable development. Findings revealed that: despite the positive attitude shown by students towards environmental education, a relatively low level of understanding of environmental concept was recorded in school settings regardless of efforts by government and other environmental agencies at creating awareness about environmental related issues. This brought about the investigation of students' environmental education knowledge in high school settings. About 205 students were randomly selected for data collection using validated instruments titled student's knowledge and attitude questionnaire as well as student's response to questions (interview) concerning global warming. T-test statistics, chi-square and simple percentage were the major statistical tools employed in data analysis. This study revealed that environment based-education (school curriculum) as well as efforts by government/environmental agencies (mass media) plays a major role in promoting students' understanding, of environmental concepts, awareness of major environmental issues and positive attitude towards natural environment.

文摘Amino acids are the primary form of nitrogen utilization in higher plants,mainly transported by amino acid transporters.In this study,we analyzed the natural variation of amino acid transporter-like 4(OsATL4)in rice germplasm resources,identified its spatiotemporal expression characteristics,determined its substrate transport,and validated its function using transgenic plants.We found that the promoter sequence of OsATL4 varied across 498 rice varieties.The expression level of OsATL4 was higher in japonica rice,which was negatively correlated with tiller number and grain yield.OsATL4 was highly expressed in the basal part,leaf sheath,stem,and young panicle,with its two splicing variants localized to the cell membrane.OsATL4a(the long splicing variant)had a high affinity for transporting Ser,Leu,Phe,and Thr,while OsATL4b(the short splicing variant)had a high affinity for transporting Ser,Leu,and Phe.Blocking OsATL4 promoted axillary bud outgrowth,rice tillering,and grain yield,whereas overexpression lines exhibited the opposite phenotype.Exogenous application of low concentrations of Ser promoted axillary bud outgrowth in overexpression lines,while high concentrations of Ser inhibited it.Conversely,the mutant lines showed the opposite response.Altered expression of OsATL4 might affect the expression of genes in nitrogen,auxin,and cytokinin pathways.We propose that two splicing variants of OsATL4 negatively regulate rice tillering and yield by mediating the transport of amino acids,making it a significant target for high-yield rice breeding.

文摘Zhanjiang Bay is a major aquaculture area in China with many types of mariculture products(such as oysters,fish,and shrimp).The culture area and shrimp output in Zhanjiang Bay are ranked first in China.We investigated the total organic carbon(TOC),total nitrogen(TN),TOC/TN ratio,and stable isotopes(δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N) of the fish and shrimp feed,fish and shrimp feces,and sedimentary organic matter(SOM) in and around different aquaculture areas of northeastern Zhanjiang B ay to study the impact of aquaculture activities on SOM.The average TOC contents of fish and shrimp feed were 39.20%±0.91% and 39.29%±0.21%,respectively.The average TOC content in the surface sediments of the oyster culture area,the mixed(fish and shrimp) culture area,and the cage fish farm area were 0.66%,0.88%±0.10%,and 0.58%±0.19%,respectively,which may indicate that mixed culture had a greater impact on SOM.The relatively high TOC and TN contents and relatively low TOC/TN ratios,and δ^(15)N values in the upper layer of the core sediment in the mixed culture area could also support the significant influence of mixed culture.The average δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values of fish and shrimp feed were -20.6‰±2.2‰ and 1.8‰±1.2‰,respectively,which were different from the isotopic values of SOM in the study area.δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values for SOM in different aquaculture areas were different from those of nearby reference stations,probably reflecting the influence of aquaculture.The δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values in the oyster culture area(-25.9‰ and6.0‰,respectively) seemed to have reduced δ^(13)C and enriched δ^(15)N relative to those of the reference station(-24.6‰ and 5.8‰,respectively).This may reflect the influence of organic matter on oyster culture.The δ^(15)N value of the station in the mixed culture area(7.1‰±0.4‰) seemed to be relatively enriched in δ^(15)N relative to that of the reference station(6.6‰).Sedimentation and the subsequent degradation of organic matter from mixed cultures may have contributed to this phenomenon.The surface sediment at the cage fish farm area seemed to be affected by fish feces and primary production based on the indication of δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values.The sediment core at the mixed culture region(NS6) had lower TOC/TN ratios and more positive δ^(13)C and δ^(15)N values than the sediment core at the oyster culture area,suggesting a higher proportionate contribution of marine organic matter in the mixed culture area.In summary,oyster culture,mixed culture,and cage fish culture in northeastern Zhanjiang Bay had a certain degree of impact on SOM,and mixed culture had more significant influences on SOM based on the high TOC contents and the significant vertical variations of TOC/TN ratio and δ^(15)N value in the sediment of this area.This study provides new insights into the impact of aquaculture activities on SOM content.

文摘Eutrophication in coastal waters has been increasing remarkably,severely impacting the water quality in mariculture bays.In this study,we conducted multiple isotopic measurements on suspended particulate nitrogen(δ^(15)N-PN) and dissolved nitrate(δ^(15)N-NO_(3)^(-)and δ^(18)O-NO_(3)^(-)) in Zhanjiang Bay,a typical mariculture bay with a high level of eutrophication in South China,to investigate the changes in nitrogen sources and their cycling between the rainy and dry seasons.During the rainy season,the study found no significant relation between δ^(15)NPN and δ^(15)N-NO_(3)^(-)due to the impact of heavy rainfall and terrestrial erosion.In the upper bay,a slight nitrate loss and slightly higher δ_(15)N-NO_(3)^(-)and δ^(18)O-NO_(3)^(-)values were observed,attributed to intense physical sedimentwater interactions.Despite some fluctuations,nitrate concentrations in the lower bay mainly aligned with the theoretical mixing line during the rainy season,suggesting that nitrate was primarily influenced by terrestrial erosion and that nitrate isotopes resembled the source.Consequently,the isotopic values of nitrate can be used for source apportionment in the rainy season.The results indicated that soil nitrogen(36%) and manure and sewage(33%) were the predominant nitrogen sources contributing to nitrogen loads during this period.In contrast,the dry season saw a deficient ammonium concentration(<0.2 μmol/L) in the bay,due to nearly complete consumption by phytoplankton during the red tide period.Additionally,the significant loss of nitrate and simultaneous increase in the stable isotopes of dissolved and particulate nitrogen suggest a strong coupling of assimilation and mineralization during the dry season.More active biogeochemical processes during the dry season may be related to decreased runoff and increased water retention time.Overall,our study illustrated the major seasonal nitrogen sources and their dynamics in Zhanjiang B ay,providing valuable insights for formulating effective policies to mitigate eutrophication in mariculture bays.

文摘BACKGROUND Glycosylation,a commonly occurring post-translational modification,is highly expressed in several tumors,specifically in those of the digestive system,and plays a role in various cellular pathophysiological mechanisms.Although the importance and detection methods of glycosylation in digestive system tumors have garnered increasing attention in recent years,bibliometric analysis of this field remains scarce.The present study aims to identify the developmental trends and research hotspots of glycosylation in digestive system tumors.AIM To find and identify the developmental trends and research hotspots of glycosylation in digestive system tumors.METHODS We obtained relevant literature from the Web of Science Core Collection and employed VOSviewer 1.6.19 and CiteSpace(version 6.1.R6)to perform bibliometric analysis.RESULTS A total of 2042 documents spanning from 1978 to the present were analyzed,with the research process divided into three phases:the period of obscurity(1978-1990),continuous development period(1991-2006),and the rapid outbreak period(2007-2023).These documents were authored by researchers from 66 countries or regions,with the United States and China leading in terms of publication output.Reis Celso A had the highest number of publications,while Pinho SS was the most cited author.Co-occurrence analysis revealed the most popular keywords in this field are glycosylation,expression,cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreatic cancer.Furthermore,the Journal of Proteome Research was the most prolific journal in terms of publications,while the Journal of Biological Chemistry had the most citations.CONCLUSION The bibliometric analysis shows current research focus is primarily on basic research in this field.However,future research should aim to utilize glycosylation as a target for treating tumor patients.

文摘Highly productive estuaries facilitate intense decomposition of dissolved organic matter(DOM) as a carbon source.However,the specific impacts of typhoons on DOM decomposition in eutrophic bays remain unclear.To address this issue,we investigated the spectral characteristics of DOM before and after Typhoon Ewiniar in Zhanjiang B ay,a eutrophic semi-enclosed bay in the northwestern South China Sea.The results revealed that intense microbial decomposition of DOM occurred during the pre-typhoon period because high nutrient inputs facilitated the mobilization of DOM in the bay.However,the intrusion of external seawater induced by the typhoon diluted the nutrient levels in Zhanjiang B ay,reducing the impact of microbial decomposition on DOM during the post-typhoon perio d.Nevertheless,the net addition of DOM occurred in Zhanjiang Bay during the post-typhoon period,possibly because of the decomposition of particulate organic matter(POM) and desorption of particulate matter.In addition,an increase in apparent oxygen utilization,a decrease in DO saturation and the reduced level of Chl a indicated that organic matter(OM) decomposition was enhanced and OM decomposition shifted to POM decomposition in Zhanjiang Bay after the typhoon.Overall,our study highlighted the shift in the intense OM decomposition from DOM to POM decomposition before and after typhoons in eutrophic bays,providing new insights into the response of typhoons to biogeo chemistry.
文摘The perception of nursing staff’s attitude influences patient fear.Understanding this dynamic is crucial for fostering a supportive environment conducive to patient well-being and effective healthcare practices.The purpose of this research is to investigate how the attitudes and behaviours of nursing staff influence the fear and anxiety levels of patients recovering from benign tumors,aiming to improve patient care and recovery outcomes.Data was collected from a sample of 100 participants,comprising 20 nursing staff and 80 patients recovering from benign tumors.Surveys were administered to gather quantitative data on attitudes and fear levels.Participants were selected randomly from hospital records and outpatient clinics.Our analysis encompassed nursing staff attitude,patient fear levels,the influence of family support,progression of tumor recovery,patient-reported satisfaction,and the quality of healthcare services provided.The quantitative aspect utilized PLS-SEM software to perform regression analysis,evaluating both direct and indirect effects.Statistical analysis assessed the relationships between nursing staff attitudes,patient fear during benign tumor recovery,and the mediating role of family support.The findings of the study demonstrate that better nurse attitudes(Hypothesis 1,β=0.45,p<0.001)and stronger family support(Hypothesis 2,β=0.32;p<0.001) are linked to lower levels of patient fear.Partially mediating the relationship between nurse attitudes and patient fear,according to Hypothesis 3(β=0.28,p<0.002),is family support.Patients’perceptions of family support are highly influenced by nursing behaviour,as demonstrated by Hypothesis 4(β=0.38;p<0.001).Our research showed a strong relationship between the attitudes of nursing personnel and patient fear levels.Family support demonstrated a strong mediating effect on patient fear.Patient-reported satisfaction is positively correlated with family support.However,no significant relationship was found between healthcare service quality and patient fear.

文摘This study aims to investigate characteristics of continental shelf wave(CSW)on the northwestern continental shelf of the South China Sea(SCS)induced by winter storms in 2021.Mooring and cruise observations,tidal gauge data at stations Hong Kong,Zhapo and Qinglan and sea surface wind data from January 1 to February 28,2021 are used to examine the relationship between along-shelf wind and sea level fluctuation.Two events of CSWs driven by the along-shelf sea surface wind are detected from wavelet spectra of tidal gauge data.The signals are triply peaked at periods of 56 h,94 h and 180 h,propagating along the coast with phase speed ranging from 6.9 m/s to18.9 m/s.The dispersion relation shows their property of the Kelvin mode of CSW.We develop a simple method to estimate amplitude of sea surface fluctuation by along-shelf wind.The results are comparable with the observation data,suggesting it is effective.The mode 2 CSWs fits very well with the mooring current velocity data.The results from rare current help to understand wave-current interaction in the northwestern SCS.

文摘A warm corona has been widely proposed to explain the soft excess(SE)in X-ray above the 2-10 ke V power law extrapolation in Active Galactic Nuclei(AGNs).In actual spectral fittings,the warm coronal seed photon temperature(T_s)is usually assumed to be far away from the soft X-ray,but kT_scan reach close to 0.1 ke V in the standard accretion disk model.In this study,we used Monte Carlo simulations to obtain radiation spectra from a slab-like warm corona and fitted the spectra using the spherical-geometry-based routine THCOMP or a thermal component.Our findings reveal tha high T_scan influence the fitting results.A moderately high kT_s(around 0.03 ke V)can result in an apparent low-temperature and flat SE,while an extremely high kT_s(around 0.07 ke V)can even produce an unobserved blackbody-like SE.Our conclusions indicate that,for spectral fittings of the warm coronal radiation(SE in AGNs),kT_sshould be treated as a free parameter with an upper limit,and an accurate coronal geometry is necessary when kT_s>0.01 ke V.

文摘Variability is one of the typical observational properties of blazars and the spectral changes are usually associated with variability,although this kind of association is unclear yet.In this work,we used data from the Steward Observatory blazar monitoring program to investigate the optical variability properties including the short-term timescale,the brightness-dependent spectral property,the correlation between the the brightness variation and the polarization,and then estimate the Doppler factors based on the obtained short timescale to study the polarization property for a sample of 20 TeV blazars.Our analyses arrive at the following results:(1)The largest variation amplitude in R-band,ΔR_(M),covers a range from ΔR_(M)=0.29 mag(1ES 2344+514)to ΔR_(M)=4.66 mag(3C 279).(2)Intra-day variability was found from five sources with timescales from 0.14 day for S50716+714 to 0.98 day for PKS 2155-304.Sixteen sources show spectra that are bluer when they become brighter,suggesting a common bluer-when-brighter property.(3)The plot of the polarization versus estimated Doppler factor is consistent with the Doppler factor dependent formula of polarization.(4)The largest polarization is correlated with the largest optical variation,suggesting that the high polarization and high amplitude variation are both the indicator of beaming effect.
