To analyze the dynamic interaction between detonation waves and coolant flow in a hydrogen fuelled detonation chamber,a hydrogen fuelled detonation chamber with a cooled liner was designed and a simulation model was established.An explicit high-resolution total variation diminishing(TVD)scheme was developed to solve the two-dimensional Euler equations implemented with an augmented reduced mechanism of the hydrogen/air mixture.A point-implicit method was used to solve the numerical stiffness of the chemical reaction source term.The interaction between detonative was and coolant flow were presented.The interaction dynamics between detonation waves and coolant flow in a detonation chamber were investigated.The results indicated that there were some negative interaction effects between detonation waves and coolant flow. 展开更多

Dimensionality reduction methods play an important role in face recognition. Principal component analysis(PCA) and two-dimensional principal component analysis(2DPCA) are two kinds of important methods in this field. Recent research seems like that 2DPCA method is superior to PCA method. To prove if this conclusion is always true, a comprehensive comparison study between PCA and 2DPCA methods was carried out. A novel concept, called column-image difference(CID), was proposed to analyze the difference between PCA and 2DPCA methods in theory. It is found that there exist some restrictive conditions when2 DPCA outperforms PCA. After theoretical analysis, the experiments were conducted on four famous face image databases. The experiment results confirm the validity of theoretical claim. 展开更多

Investigation on Combustion Characteristics in Channel with Obstacles for Internal Combustion Wave Rotor

This paper establishes a simplified test system for internal combustion wave rotor with a single channel and designs different intensifying combustion obstacles and arrangements. Moreover, this paper analyzes the intensifying effect of obstacles on combustion process of the internal combustion wave rotor from the stable operation range, pressure gain and flame progression process perspective. The results show that the range of inlet velocity under stable operation of the internal combustion wave rotor narrows after the addition of obstacles, and the corresponding velocity values substantially reduce while the flame propagation speed can be improved by 2 - 4 times. At the rotation rate of 1500 rpm, the pressure gain increases significantly during the combustion process. These results provide technical supports for further research and application of the internal combustion wave rotor. 展开更多

Mission-critical software (MCS) must provide continuous, online services to ensure the successful accomplish- ment of critical missions. Self-adaptation is particularly desirable for assuring the quality of service (QoS) and availability of MCS under uncertainty. Few techniques have insofar addressed the issue of MCS self-adaptation, and most existing approaches to software self-adaptation fail to take into account uncertainty in the self-adaptation loop. To tackle this problem, we propose a fuzzy control based approach, i.e., Software Fuzzy Self-Adaptation (SFSA), with a view to deal with the challenge of MCS self-adaptation under uncertainty. First, we present the SFSA conceptual framework, consisting of sensing, deciding and acting stages, and establish the formal model of SFSA to lay a rigorous and mathematical foundation of our approach. Second, we develop a novel SFSA implementation technology as well as its supporting tool, i.e., the SFSA toolkit, to automate the realization process of SFSA. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through the development of an adaptive MCS application in process control systems. Validation experiments show that the fuzzy control based approach proposed in this work is effective and with low overheads. 展开更多
