Dynamic impact properties of deep sandstone under thermal-hydraulicmechanical coupling loads

The deep rock mass within coal mines situated in a challenging environment are characterized by high ground stress,high geotemperature,high osmotic water pressure,and dynamic disturbances from mechanical excavation.To investigate the impact of this complex mechanical environment on the dynamic characteristics of roof sandstone in self-formed roadways without coal pillars,standard specimens of deep sandstone from the 2611 upper tunnel working face of the Yongmei Company within the Henan Coal Chemical Industry Group in Henan,China were prepared,and an orthogonal test was designed.Using a self-developed geotechnical dynamic impact mechanics test system,triaxial dynamic impact tests under thermal-hydraulicmechanical coupling conditions were conducted on deep sandstone.The results indicate that under high confining pressure,deep sandstone exhibits pronounced brittle failure at low temperatures,with peak strength gradually decreasing as temperature and osmotic water pressure increase.Conversely,under low confining pressure and low temperature,the brittleness of deep sandstone weakens gradually,while ductility increases.Moreover,sandstone demonstrates higher peak strength at low temperatures under high axial pressure conditions,lower peak strength at high temperatures,and greater strain under low axial pressure and high osmotic water pressure.Increases in impact air pressure and osmotic water pressure have proportionally greater effects on peak stress and peak strain.Approximately 50%of the input strain energy is utilized as effective energy driving the sandstone fracture process.Polar analysis identifies the optimal combination of factors affecting the peak stress and peak strain of sandstone.Under the coupling effect,intergranular and transgranular fractures occur within the sandstone.SEM images illustrate that the damage forms range from minor damage with multiple fissures to extensive fractures and severe fragmentation.This study elucidates the varied dynamic impact mechanical properties of deep sandstones under thermal-hydraulic-mechanical coupling,along with multifactor analysis methods and their optimal factor combinations. 展开更多

Much research has been conducted regarding the causes and impacts of climate change around the world. The current research contributes to the knowledge of the influence of climate change on our environment, with emphasis on earthquake occurrences in the region of Indonesia. Using global temperature anomaly as a measure of climate change, and earthquake data in Indonesia for the period 1900-2022, the paper seeks to find a relationship (if any) between the two variables. Statistical methods used include normal distribution analysis, linear regression and correlation test. The results show peculiar patterns in the progression of earthquake occurrences as well as global temperature anomaly occurring in the same time periods. The findings also indicated that the magnitudes of earthquakes remained unaffected by global temperature anomalies over the years. Nonetheless, there appears to be a potential correlation between temperature anomalies and the frequency of earthquake occurrences. As per the results, an increase in temperature anomaly is associated with a higher frequency of earthquakes. 展开更多

During subway operation,various factors will cause long-term land subsidence,such as the vibration subsidence of foundation soil caused by train vibration load,incomplete consolidation deformation of foundation soil during tunnel construction,dense buildings and structures in the vicinity of the tunnel,and changes in water level in the stratum where the tunnel is located.The monitoring of long-term land subsidence during subway operation in high-density urban areas differs from that in low-density urban construction areas.The former is the gathering point of the entire urban population.There are many complex buildings around the project,busy road traffic,high pedestrian flow,and less vegetation cover.Several existing items requiremonitoring.However,monitoring distance is long,and providing early warning is difficult.This study uses the 2.8 km operation line between Wulin Square station and Ding’an Road station of Hangzhou Subway Line 1 as an example to propose the integrated method of DInSAR-GPS-GIS technology and the key algorithm for long-term land subsidence deformation.Then,it selects multiscene image data to analyze long-termland subsidence of high-density urban areas during subway operation.Results show that long-term land subsidence caused by the operation of Wulin Square station to Ding’an Road station of Hangzhou Subway Line 1 is small,with maximumsubsidence of 30.64 mm,and minimumsubsidence of 11.45 mm,and average subsidence ranging from 19.27 to 21.33 mm.And FLAC3D software was used to verify the monitoring situation,using the geological conditions of the soil in the study area and the tunnel profile to simulate the settlement under vehicle load,and the simulation results tended to be consistent with the monitoring situation. 展开更多

President Xi Jinping, during his term of office in Zhejiang, launched a number of seminars and activities to seek "a Zhejiang spirit that moves with the times." Forty years of reform and opening-up, the "Zhejiang spirit" has experienced an evolution that can be summarized as three improvements: from spontaneous formation to deliberate cultivation, from something limited to eastern Zhejiang to an integrating force that spans the entire Zhejiang Province, and from a mere existence to a role that functions adequately. The "Zhejiang spirit" is extracted from the humanistic spirits shaped in all corners of Zhejiang province. It is "an instrumental ensemble played across the entire province," and represents a certain judgment and interpretation. Aflatoxin B_1(AFB_1)is a common contaminant in cereals of global concern,and long-term low-dose exposure can adversely affect human health.Here,we showed that populations with dietary patterns characterized by high-fat diet(HFD)might have an increased risk of exposure to high levels of AFB_1.Our data indicated that chronic exposure of AFB_1 induced“gut-liver axis”injury in mice under HFD and normal diet(ND)patterns.AFB_1 further aggravated hepatic and intestinal injury,and intestinal microbiota disruption in HFD mice.Bifidobacterium breve BAA-2849 intervention analysis showed that liver injury and lipid disorders caused by AFB_1 exposure were alleviated by regulating the proportions of different gut microbes.We demonstrated through a mice model that the populations with a dietary pattern of HFD might be more susceptible to AFB_1 exposure and adverse effects on the gut-liver axis,and the toxicity of AFB_1 exposure can be alleviated by regulating the gut microbiota. 展开更多

In order to increase the efficiency in the machining of the sculptured surfaces, the contact principle of differential geometry is applied to the 5-axis NC machining; The best contact condition between tool and the surfaces is researched. Through analysis the contact degree of the intersection line of the cutter and the surfaces is known. In comparison to previous studies, the theory is more restricted and accurate by going beyond the second-order parameters into the third-order, suiting both the primary surfaces of analytical geometry and the computer-generated surfaces of the computation geometry. It has definite procedure of calculation, and the equations are easy to solve. The thought process is very clear: First, suppose that there is a surface of third-order, the coefficients of which are arbitrary; Then find out the best posture of the circle in order that the circle and the surface will most closely contact with each other at the origin position; Finally, develop the surface into a third-order surface at every point of machining and employ the results mentioned above to find the best cutter posture at every point of machining. As a result, the equations are easy to solve, and the concept is clear. 展开更多

Methods to optimize the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) by Lactobacillus brevis CGMCC 1306 were investigated. Results indicated that cell growth was maximal at pH 5.0, while pH 4.5 was pref-erable to GABA formation. The optimal temperature for cell growth (35 °C) was lower than that for GABA forma-tion (40 °C). In a two-stage pH and temperature control fermentation, cultures were maintained at pH 5.0 and 35 °C for 32 h, then adjusted to pH 4.5 and 40 °C, GABA production increased remarkably and reached 474.79 mmol·L-1 at 72 h, while it was 398.63 mmol·L-1 with one stage pH and temperature control process, in which cultivation con-ditions were constantly controlled at pH 5.0 and 35 °C. In order to avoid the inhibition of cell growth at higher L-monosodium glutamate (L-MSG) concentrations, the two-stage control fermentation with substrate feeding strat-egy was applied to GABA production, with 106.87 mmol (20 g) L-MSG supplemented into the shaking-flask at 32 h and 56 h post-inoculation separately. The GABA concentration reached 526.33 mmol·L-1 at 72 h with the fer-mentation volume increased by 38%. These results will provide primary data to realize large-scale production of GABA by L. brevis CGMCC 1306. 展开更多

The spatial interaction model is an effective way to explore the geographical disparities inherent in the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI) by simulating spatial flows. The traditional gravity model implies the hypothesis of equilibrium points without any reference to when or how to achieve it. In this paper, a dynamic gravity model was established based on the Maximum Entropy(MaxEnt) theory to estimate and monitor the interconnection intensity and dynamic characters of bilateral relations. In order to detect the determinants of interconnection intensity, a Geodetector method was applied to identify and evaluate the determinants of spatial networks in five dimensions. The empirical study clearly demonstrates a heterogeneous and non-circular spatial structure. The main driving forces of spatial-temporal evolution are foreign direct investment, tourism and railway infrastructure construction, while determinants in different sub-regions show obvious spatial differentiation. Southeast Asian countries are typically multi-island area where aviation infrastructure plays a more important role. North and Central Asian countries regard oil as a pillar industry where power and port facilities have a greater impact on the interconnection. While Western Asian countries are mostly influenced by the railway infrastructure, Eastern European countries already have relatively robust infrastructure where tariff policies provide a greater impetus. 展开更多

By means of elastic theory with different moduli and stress-softening models,general solutions cal-culating Tresca and Mohr-Coulomb materials' stress and displacement fields of expansion of spherical cavity were derived. The effects caused by different elastic moduli in tensile and compression and strain-softening rates on stress and displacement fields and development of plastic zone of expansion of cavity were analyzed. The results show that the ultimate expansion pressure,stress and displacement fields and development of plastic zone vary with the different elastic moduli and strain-softening prop-erties. If classical elastic theory is adopted and strain-softening properties are neglected,rather large errors may be the result. 展开更多

Effects of pH value were studied deeply on Fischer–Tropsch synthesis (FTS) through a semi-batch reactor. Among all impregnation solutions (water, butanol, amyl alcohol, acetic acid, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate), the catalyst prepared by NH4NO3solution showed the highest catalytic activity due to its small particle size and high reduction degree. However, the catalyst with the smallest particle size derived from water as impregnation solution exhibited low activity as well as high methane selectivity since it was difficult to be reduced and inactive in FTS. According to FT-IR spectra results, the low intensity of absorbed CO on the catalyst prepared from water solution resulted in low FTS activity. Whereas, the high activity of catalysts prepared from NH4NO3solution could be explained by the high intensity of absorbed CO on the catalysts. The cobalt species on the catalysts prepared under lower pH conditions exhibited smaller particle size distribution as well as lower CO conversion than those prepared at higher pH value. © 2016 Science Press 展开更多

Production of chemicals and fuels from microcrystalline cellulose has inspired scholars’ attention. Deactivation of metallic catalysts including acid leaching and hydrothermal aggregation is still one of the core issues in these systems. To address these problems, we designed and fabricated a series of Ni-W/SiO2 catalysts, which were decorated by CxNy species using C-and N- sources and applied in cellulose conversion to C2,3 oxygenated compounds. The Ni-W/SiO2@CxNy catalysts, underwent complexing and selfassembling process, exhibited special heterojunctions, accompanying strong interactions mainly among Ni phase and CxNy layers. Catalytic results showed that the heterojunctions and outer CxNy layers extensively enhanced productions of hydroxyacetone(HDA) and ethylene glycol(EG) and promoted the hydrothermal stability through prospering in concentration of Lewis pairs from Ni–N—N structure and immobilizing the metallic nanoclusters. 48.25% of EG was yielded under 5.0 MPa H2 pressurized 240 ℃ water for 2.0 h. The Lewis pair further improved the formation of HDA with 20.92% yield. High hydrothermal stability of NiW/SiO2@CxNy catalyst was proved according to the recycling results and trace leaching concentration of Ni and W. This construction of metallic catalysts exploited a new strategy to manufacture extraordinary durability of metallic nanoclusters for cellulose conversion under harsh reaction conditions. 展开更多

Four categories of globular proteins, including all-a, all-β, α+β, and α/β types, are simplified as the off-lattice HNP model involving the secondary-structural information of each protein. The propensity of three types of residues, i.e., H, N, and P to form a secondary structure is investigated based on 146 protein samples. We find that P residues are easy to form a-helices, whereas H residues have a higher tendency to construct β-sheets. The statistical analysis also indicates that the occurrence of P residues is invariably higher than that of H residues, which is independent of protein category. Changes in bond- and non-bonded potential energies of all protein samples under a wide temperature range are presented by coarse-grained molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. The simulation results clearly show a linear relationship between the bond-stretching/bending potential energy and the reduced temperature. The bond-torsional and non-bonded potential energies show distinct transitions with temperature. The bond-torsional energy increases to the maximum and then decreases with the increase of temperature, which is opposite to the change in non-bonded potential energy. The transition temperature of non-bonded potential energy is independent of the protein category, while that of bond-torsional energy is closely related to the protein secondary structure, i.e., α-helix or E-sheet. The quantitatively bonded- and semi- quantitatively non-bonded potential energy of 24 α+β and 23 α/β protein samples are successfully predicted according to the statistical results obtained from MD simulations. 展开更多

Amine transaminases(ATAs)catalyze the asymmetric amination of prochiral ketones or aldehydes to their corresponding chiral amines.However,the trade-off between activity and stability in enzyme engineering represents a major obstacle to the practical application of ATAs.Overcoming this trade-off is important for developing robustly engineered enzymes and a universal approach for ATAs.Herein,we modified the binding pocket of co-ATA from Aspergillus terreus(AtATA)to identify the key amino acid residues controlling the activity and stability of AtATA toward 1-acetonaphthone.We discovered a structural switch comprising four key amino acid sites(R128,V149,L182,and L187),as well as the"best"mutant(AtATAD224K/V149A/L182 F/L187F;termed M4).Compared to the parent enzyme AtATAD224K(AtATAPa),M4 increased the catalytic efficiency(k_(cat)/K_(m)^(1-acetonaphthone),where kcatis the constant of catalytic activities and is 10.1 min^(-1),K_(m)^(1-acetonaphthoneis) Michaelis-Menten constant and is 1.7 mmol·L^(-1))and half-life(t1/2)by 59-fold to 5.9 L·min^(-1)·mmol-1and by 1.6-fold to 46.9 min,respectively.Moreover,using M4 as the biocatalyst,we converted a 20 mmol·L^(-1)aliquot of 1-acetonaphthone in a 50 mL scaled-up system to the desired product,(R)-(+)-1(1-naphthyl)ethylamine((R)-NEA),with 78%yield and high enantiomeric purity(R>99.5%)within 10 h.M4 also displayed significantly enhanced activity toward various 1-acetonaphthone analogs.The related structural properties derived by analyzing structure and sequence information of robust ATAs illustrated their enhanced activity and thermostability.Strengthening of intramolecular interactions and expansion of the angle between the substratebinding pocket and the pyridoxal 5’-phosphate(PLP)-binding pocket contributed to synchronous enhancement of ATA thermostability and activity.Moreover,this pocket engineering strategy successfully transferred enhanced activity and thermostability to three other ATAs,which exhibited 8%-22%sequence similarity with AtATA.This research has important implications for overcoming the trade-off between ATA activity and thermostability. 展开更多

Effects of supplementary urea-minerals lick block on the kinetics of fibre digestion, nutrient digestibility and nitrogen utilization of low quality roughages

Three yearling lambs with a rumen cannula were used to investigate the effects of supplementation with an urea-minerals lick block (ULB) on the kinetics of ruminal fibre digestion, nutrient digestibility and nitrogen (N) utilization office straw (RS), ammonia bicarbonate (AB)-treated RS (ABRS) and hay prepared from natural pasture. The digestibility of dry matter and organic matter of RS increased by 13.1% and 12.7% (P〈0.05) when the diet was supplemented with ULB, and approached to that of ABRS, indicating that the effect of ULB on digestibility of RS is similar to that of AB treatment. The digestibility of ABRS was slightly improved by the ULB feeding. Nitrogen retention was highest in lambs fed on ABRS alone, followed by hay with ULB, and was lowest in animals fed on RS with ULB. However, both the amount and proportion of N retention to N intake were enhanced by ULB supplementation to lambs fed on hay. The proportion of N retained to N digested decreased due to ULB supplementation to lambs fed on RS or ABRS. Supplementing ULB did not greatly influence the rumen degradation of either dry matter or crude protein in each of the three diets. RS and hay had similar values in the potential extent of digestion (PED) and digestion rate of PED (kd) of fibrous materials, but the discrete lag time for RS was lower than that for hay. The AB treatment significantly increased the PED (P〈0.05) and kd (P〈0.05) of RS. Neither the PED nor kd for RS and ABRS was influenced by ULB supplementation, but the kd for hay significantly increased due to ULB. The lag time for hay was also shortened by the ULB feeding. The ULB improved the digestion of fibre in the rumen of lambs fed on low quality roughage. It is inferred that while ULB is effective in increasing nutrient digestibility of low quality roughages by improving ruminal fibre digestion. A synchronized supply of N and energy to rumen microbes should be considered to improve the efficiency of N utilization when the basal diet is ammoniated straw. 展开更多
